TOO MUCH LOVE
Dear Bertie:
My friend has been dating this girl for nearly a year now but I have always felt she is the wrong person for him. She calls him all the time and consumes almost all of his free time. I am concerned not only that she is controlling, but also that he doesn’t see what’s happening and may end up marrying her. I’m stuck as to what to do.

It’s well that you are concerned about your friend’s well being. Make sure that your interest in the situation isn’t driven by personal motivations i.e. wanting to spend time with your friend. Doing so will only cause harm to your friendship. You should explore the possibility of latent homosexuality on your behalf. If you find yourself in love with this friend, tell him how you feel and do what you can to get rid of the girl.
