PRESIDENT “FIRMLY IN TUNE” WITH NATIONAL EGGO CRISIS

November 28 2009

Washington, D.C. – Common wisdom has always stated that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Medical science has largely back up that claim and those two factors have combined to make the breakfast industry a multi-billion dollar egoo waffles
industry. Cereals, bacon, fruit, and toast are some of the most common ingredients in any healthy breakfast but in recent years one product has come to be the cornerstone of any healthy diet, and that products very existence may now be at risk and with it the health of millions of Americans.

The great Eggo shortage of 2009, as it has come to be called, has left people across the United States without one of their most beloved foods. The shortage comes as a result of a perfect storm of issues; a flood at a key facility in Atlanta, equipment issues at a Tennessee facility, and a reported outbreak of Listeria in one facility have all contributed to the current shortage. Now with supermarket shelves virtually barren of the beloved waffles the Obama administration is focusing new attention on the issues and working with Kellogg, the manufacturer of Eggo waffles, to restore production to normal levels.barack obama concerned

“The President is firmly in tune with the situation and we are working with everyone involved to help bring about a swift resolution to the issue. The President understands how important waffles are to the diet of so many Americans and wants to ensure that no one in the country is going hungry or that the breakfasts of America’s children are being compromised in any way,” said White House spokesman Robert Gibbs. “The President has personally been in touch with executives at Kellogg as well as individual plant managers. We are currently looking at sometime next week for the President to make his way down to Atlanta to tour the affected region and to offer any kind of support from the federal government that might aid in getting waffles back on the plates of Americans.”

Gibbs did note that the President is very aware that any visit he makes to the affected region may hinder repair efforts and will do his best to ensure that his presence will not affect the recovery.obama eating waffles

“In a time of great economic concern that last thing the people of the United States need is to worry about what will be on their breakfast plates. People have to worry about mortgage payments, their children’s future, and whether or not they will have a job next week but now they are being forced to think about what they and their children will eat. Something that most people took as automatic is now suddenly a major issue which only adds stress to people’s lives,” said Scrape TV American analyst Dave Davidson. “One cannot underestimate the power and value of the waffle in everyday American life and that is being threatened. Until waffle production can be returned the normal the very fabric of the American life could be under threat.”

Amongst the obvious concerns, many Americans are apparently concerned that waffle production could in the future be affected in a similar way by terrorists. Some have also pointed to global warming as a major threat to production as evidenced by the flooding in Atlanta.heart shaped waffles

“Whatever the reason the obligation now is to get production back up to normal. While both sides of the political spectrum will pass the blame onto each other, most ordinary Americans are simply concerned with getting food on the table. The reasons and the rationale for the events are the last thing on their minds and they just want them fixed however that has to be done,” continued Davidson. “This is an issue that really cuts things down the middle and brings in people of all backgrounds and political spectrums. Most Americans just want their waffles and they don’t care how they get them.”

Many in the country have been forced to purchase private label waffles which just don’t taste the same.
