Palm Beach, FL – There was a time when Ivana Trump was one of the biggest names in popular culture. Her high profile divorce from mega-billionaire Donald Trump grabbed headlines the world over, becoming one of the biggest celebrity splits ever.
Part of the reason for that high profile was the record-setting divorce settlement in 1991 which, though meagre by today’s standards, became a pop-culture touchstone for an entire generation, launching bother her and Donald into the mainstream.
Since then Ivana has leveraged her popularity and her last name into a successful career as a businesswoman, socialite, and general celebrity. With her ex-husband and daughter never far from the spotlight, Trump has always been able to use her cache to keep her name in the limelight whether through milking her status as the most famous divorcee in history or making appearances on the home shopping channel. Now, a fresh incident has once again brought her name to the lips of celebrity watchers, an incident that has seen her once again exploiting an important cultural touchstone of the times. On Saturday, Trump was escorted off a plane in Florida after throwing a tantrum over screaming children on the flight. Now Trump is seeking ways to exploit the incident, something experts believe will be a challenge even for her.
“From the initial contact until Ms Trump left the property, she was saying f*** you to all the deputies and called the children 'little f******'She was so belligerent towards other passengers and crew that the plane returned to the terminal,” said a police spokesperson. “The reason she got so upset was the children and she started screaming, 'I want to go back home. Ms. Trump was asked to leave the plane multiple times and when she refused our agents physically removed her from the plane. We have not filed charges at this time.”
Trump just recently announced her latest divorce from Italian businessman Rossano Rubicondi though it’s not clear how much money she will be earning from that separation.
“Trump has been able to leverage her divorce in incredible ways, ways that have set a standard for all divorcees but has never been matched by anyone. Incredible business success, best-selling books, appearances in hit Hollywood films, Trump has done it all and made everyone else look like amateurs in the process,” said Scrape TV Business
analyst Ken Green. “It will be interesting to see how she transforms this latest incident, as well as her newest divorce, into business success. Many people have
outbursts on planes and are escorted off-- including the latest terror incident-- but few have ever been able to turn their embarrassment into dollars. If anyone can do it and set a new standard it is Ivana so this will be interesting to watch.”
Apparently, Trump’s business team has already been in contact with the home shopping channel over new line of child-repellents and personal isolation booths.
“Ivana is undoubtedly a survivor and one of the best at making lemonade out of lemons. Four divorces in, she has been able to milk every single so far into something fantastic for her bottom line and I imagine this incident will be more of the same,” continued Green. “Of course Donald will also get on top of it if she starts to make a lot of money but that’s just par for the course with those two.”
Marla Maples, the woman who got between the Trumps resulting in their divorce, threw a tantrum on a plane later in the day but no news outlets reported the incident.
