LADY GAGA TAKES HEAT FOR NEW PICTURE SPREAD THAT DOESN’T COVER HER FACE

September 8 2010

New York, NY – Controversy and rock and roll have been pretty much attached at the hip from the very beginning. Elvis created stirs, so did The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Sex Pistols, Motley Crue, Nirvana, and Marilyn Manson. It is an essential part of marilyn manson
the game of popular music, not only for bringing attention to the artist but also for the medium of music itself. Whatever the reason, controversy and music have long gone hand-in-hand and likely always will.

Upholding that long and proud  tradition is current pop sensation Lady Gaga who has, like many of her predecessors, made a living off making herself the centre of attention. Whether it’s her public appearances or her colourful remarks, Gaga has paved a road right through the middle of controversy and taken to with vigour. Now the grand lady of pop has sparked another controversy by appearing on the cover of Japanese Vogue dressed in nothing but meat. While that has understandably raised the ire of anti-meat advocates, much of the controversy is actually starting to turn towards the largely natural appearance of her face which is normally caked in makeup. That appearance now facing magazine buyers across Japan has caused many to request that the magazine be pulled completely.lady gaga meat

“I have actually thought about covering the top of the magazine but that would also cut out the title. I don’t know what to do exactly because it has been causing a lot of problem with many of my customers. Children have really been affected by this cover and that has caused many parents t o complain about the magazine. I cannot simply pull it from the shelves however so I am not sure what to do,” said a Tokyo shopkeeper. “It has also caused a great deal of disgust amongst the older shoppers which are quite revered here. However we sell many of these magazines every month and so I have purchased many and must make my money back.”

The shopkeeper stated that this wife won’t come into the store after seeing the cover.

“People like Ingrid Newkirk at PETA are a little upset for some reason. I mean its meat meat
which is widely seen all across the world. It’s not a secret that meat exists but for some reason it’s a big deal when famous people wear it. Anyway it’s likely they are just trying to get their names in the papers,” said Scrape TV Business analyst Ken Green. “This notion of barely putting any makeup on her is something else entirely. I mean she is wearing some, that’s obvious, but nearly as much as usual. You can almost see what she really looks like and that isn’t a sight that anyone should be exposed to. It’s frankly a little odd to make that kind of choice especially given the state of the newspaper industry today. Sales really matter now.”

Many media critics are also questioning whether or not the whole controversy is staged as so few people actually read magazines anymore.lady gaga without makeup

“There is a real sound question as to who, aside from casual shoppers who happen to pass the magazine rack, would actually get upset by this. I mean it is Japan and they buy weird things but magazines are still, I mean they’re magazines. I guess the industry needs something to bring people back in but an un-madeup Lady Gaga is probably not the best way to do that,” continued Green. “It’s very likely that the industry is dead for good and things like this, stunts like this, just aren’t going to turn the tide. Frankly though I am glad it’s only available in Japan. I don’t want to be faced with that when I go to get my lottery tickets.”

Gaga reportedly ate the meat raw before rutting around in the yard dressed like a gopher.
