LAYOFFS EXPECTED AS AL QAEDA DISCOVERS CHEAPER METHODS FOR BOMB DELIVERIES

Sana‘a, Yemen – While there is no doubt that the majority of the struggle during the recent economic troubles has been felt by developed nations, there has also been a great deal of concern and cutbacks throughout the world. True, economies such as

China and India continue to surge, even at lower levels, but there has been little contraction in nations currently inhabiting the developing world. That is due in large part to the relatively meagre economies of those nations, but also due to a reliance on production rather than speculation based economies.
Things have certainly improved from where they were two years ago but troubles still exist and in many places jobs are hard, if not impossible, to find. Those pressures have also been felt by employers which have struggled with reduced and less experienced work forces, which often in turn reduces capacity and further drives the economic recovery downwards. However some employers have not simply taken the downturn in stride and have started to actively work with the issues and in the process totally renovate the way in which they do business. Such actions are true not only in developed nations but also in the rest of the world as evidenced by the recent attempted bombing of cargo planes which has been the pivot point for a new, more refined Al Qaeda philosophy.
“To bring down America we do not need to strike big. With the security phobia that is sweeping America, it is more feasible to stage smaller attacks that involve less players and less time to launch. With these methods we can circumvent U.S. security and be more effective,” said the organization in a statement. “It has become clear that in this current economic climate the large scale attacks with which we have become associated simply are unfeasible. The monetary outlay that such actions require is something that is simply not feasible in this climate.”
The organization also noted that the loss of skilled workers in such acts is also a major reason for the change in philosophy.
“Belt tightening is something that all companies have had to do over the last few
years and while that has certainly resulted in a lot of headaches for employers, it has also given them the opportunity to explore new business models. This is a classic case of necessity being the mother of invention, practiced in real life,” said Scrape TV Terrorism analyst Doug Davids. “In the case of Al Qaeda though the reasons may be less obvious than they appear to be. The hard data shows that recruitment throughout the organization has been down in recent years, that the attacks of 9/11 simply did not have the impact that the group believed it would and has actually worked to reduce the number of people applying, and those who do apply are often less skilled. Killing off those few who do apply is simply not a practical business model.”
Much of the recruitment issues are believed to be tied to the killings and arrests made by coalition forces.
“That said, if this business model does prove effective, and it has not yet, then it could very well become a new way to do business. With the failure of those bombs to detonate however the model does appear to require at the very least some refinement, some work,” continued Davids. “If it does take off though I would imagine that we will see a raft of layoffs throughout the organization. That will inevitably result in a raft of talent, both high and low, left without work. We could still yet not be seeing the worst of this recession particularly as it trickles down through the lower parts of the economy.”
Thus far Al Qaeda has reported no layoffs.
