RELIGION OF PAUL RUDD HAVING TROUBLE FINDING ACCEPTANCE
August 27 2010
Los Angeles, CA – All religions have had trouble first being accepted. Christianity, the largest religion ever, was spread by groups of vagrants forced out of their homes. Islam, the number two religion, had to suffer literal slings and arrows in its early days.
Throughout history all religions and sects have had trouble gaining ground, gaining acceptance amongst the masses and while a few have been able to succeed, far more have fallen by the wayside with their followers ostracized and persecuted.
Even with so many dominant religions in the modern world people have tried to develop their own ideologies. Some, like Rastafarian, have been very successful. Others though, like Branch Davidian, have gone down in literal flames just like so many in the past. Others like Scientology are still on the bubble. Successful or not though all these religions have one thing in common, the espouse faith and faith is something the human animal seeks almost natively. While religion may not be strictly necessary the fact that we seek it proves that it contains a continuing value for the species and likely will for many years to come. In that time religions will continue to thrive and die and for some, like the growing religion centered on actor Paul Rudd, have a long way to go before proving themselves.
“It’s hard, really hard actually. We’ve had all kinds of trouble getting funding and there’s so much paperwork trying to get tax exempt status that a regular person would give up. We don’t though, we are people of faith and we believe truly that this is the right path not only for us but also for the world,” said Ruddism founder Dave Walsh. “These are merely challenges in the mortal realm however and we know that the greater reward will await us in the beyond. When we all sit at the seat of Paul Rudd we will know love and truth and understand that all our troubles on Earth were merely the path to get to this place.”
Paul Rudd himself is not directly involved with the church which boasts 12 members in Los Angeles and 4 in Delaware. Other loosely affiliated groups throughout the country also worship the actor.
“Our actions to provide a place of worship and a place of dedication are a reward unto themselves. We await a reward in the beyond but that is not why we do these things. We do these things to better humanity, to bring disparate people together under one banner and end the hate and turmoil that has so divided people,” continued Walsh. “One day as I sit at the chair of the Almighty I will know that our work has been worth it. As we sit watching the billions who have come to the faith, to understand the beauty that is the prophet, we will understand truly that we have done good things for the world and made it a better place. That is all we can ask for.”
Ruddism allows for depictions of the prophet but his name must not be spoken.
“Some have asked why this person but that is like asking why the sun or why the winds. He is what is, that is all. There is nothing to question and no debate to have, He is all, He is everything that ever was and ever will be and to accept that is true understanding,” continued Walsh. “One day people will realize the error of their ways and we will accept them with open arms. This is not a religion of hate and divisiveness like so many other faiths, this is a religion of understanding and tolerance and acceptance, as is His will. We are merely servants of a grander plan.”
Paul Rudd will next star in ‘How Do You Know’ alongside Reese Witherspoon.
