9/11 ANNIVERSARY ATTACK IN TROUBLE WITHOUT BIN LADEN

July 15 2011

New York, NY – It’s difficult to believe but the attacks on New York and Washington are almost a decade old. When those attacks unspooled on that fateful late summer day in 2001 the world was a much different place. There were no iPod’s, no Harry 911 attack
Potter movies, and no Facebook. Even Google, the behemoth of information dissemination of the modern age, was still in its infancy. The world was a much different place when those planes slammed into those buildings all those years ago.

Other things have changed as well but one thing that hasn’t shifted is the passion most Americans still feel about that day. After all, it was a traumatic event and there has been no shortage of reminders of that day. All these years later, soldiers still fight in Afghanistan and it was only a few months ago that the mastermind of that day was killed. Even if the people of the United States had wanted to forget about that day it would have been next to impossible. Of course, that is that last thing most people wanted to do and now as the anniversary date approaches, the attacks are more and more on the minds of most Americans. However, it appears that one important participant in that day may not be involved in the tin anniversary with Al Qaeda acknowledging that plans to launch an anniversary attack have started to fall apart.

“Much of the energy for the celebrations died with Osama. It was a big part of his plans, it was something he very much wanted to make happen but with him gone, it just may not happen. The current management just doesn’t believe that this is the bin laden
proper direction,” said an Al Qaeda insider. “Al-Zawahiri is just not that into parties and celebrations. He’s a little more reserved, a little less outgoing than bin Laden. One of the first things he did was cut all financing for the anniversary project, though some cells are still interested in pursuing on their own.”

Details of the planned attack were uncovered in the data taken from bin Laden’s compound.

“I think it will still happen, though it is going to be a little muted. Without principal financing and support making anything big happen is going to be really difficult. Some people are trying to convince the leadership to support the project, but that is probably not going to go anywhere. Ayman is just a bit of a stick in the mud,” continued the insider. “He has also made it known that he does not want any individual cells to engage in celebrations, though some probably still will. He feels that these types of celebrations are exactly what the Americans want and that they would be symbolic of the decadence of the west. He opposed them with bin Laden but had little choice but to agree. Now that he is in charge things have changed.”

New York officials are still planning a celebration for the anniversary.

“It would have been interesting to see where Al Qaeda would have gone with these al qaeda terrorists
celebrations but unfortunately it looks like it will never happen. Obviously with all the parties going on throughout the United States it would have been just one of many, but it would of course been one of the most watched,” said Scrape TV Terrorism analyst Doug Davids. “The truth is that the organization really can’t afford the type of party they likely had planned. It would really just have been the force of bin Laden’s personality that would have made it happen, but without him there really isn’t much drive to make it happen. Hopefully for them there will at least be some private celebrations, but any kind of big deal is pretty much done.”

Some cells have already applied for permits in the city, though specifics of their plans have not been revealed.
