POPE BENEDICT EXORCISED TWO MEN AND SENT THEM OFF TO BOYS CAMP FOR RECUPERATION
February 7 2012
Vatican City – Following Pope John Paul II was going to be a tough task for anyone. That Pope was, possibly, likely, the most loved and respected of all pontiffs in history. Even for non-Catholics, even for people who opposed Christianity for one reason or another, there was little arguing the integrity of Karol Józef Wojtyła. He had his
controversies like all people in the public eye, but the quality of the person was unmatched, making him a very tough act to follow.
That is part of the reason that Pope Benedict XVI has had so much trouble winning people over. He has had to work inside a very long and deep shadow, something few people would ever want going into a new job, and something which is always very difficult to overcome.
Of course, Benedict hasn’t done himself any favours in trying to get out from that shadow. While some can forgive his past as a member of the Nazi Youth, and even his past in trying to protect pedophile priests, the cumulative effects of his past deeds, and his inability to correct similar actions now, have made him a controversial figure, a perception that will likely not change much with word that the Pope has conducted at least two exorcisms of men inside the Vatican, before sending the victims off the recuperate at a boys camp.
“They banged their heads on the ground. The Swiss Guards watched them but did nothing. Giovanni and Marco started to wail at the same time, they were lying on the floor, howling. They were trembling, slobbering, working themselves into a frenzy,” wrote Vatican chief exorcist Father Amorth. “The Pope watched from a distance. He raised an arm and blessed the four of them. For the possessed it was like a furious jolt - a blow to their whole bodies - to the extent that they were thrown three metres backwards. They stopped howling but they cried uncontrollably.”
The two men were quickly shuffled off to the boys camp in northern Italy, returning a few months later refreshed and relaxed.
It’s believed that Satan or whatever lesser demons that infested them also left the Earthly realm, though they could easily have moved onto others.
“Even in the very faithful, exorcism is a controversial topic. Some believe it does exactly what it says it does, while other, quite sensibly, believe it marks the religion as little more than voodoo and hocus pocus in the eyes of the public, which is why it has been kept quiet for so long officially at least,” said Scrape TV Religion analyst Bertram Gas. “This story of the event, this idea that the Pope can get rid of Satan with a simply look, is very silly indeed and doesn’t help the story much. If it were that easy the Pope could rid Earth of Satan forever just by being present, but that doesn’t happen. It could well be that these two men just wanted to attend the camp, which is quite popular with priests and other religious types.”
The Vatican has said the Pope was not aware of the men’s afflictions beforehand and has no say as to where they go after having Satan exiled from their bodies.
There was no report on the men’s progress at the boy’s camp, nor if any other demons were evacuated while staying there.
