POPE CALLED A NAZI BY COMMIE SUSAN SARANDON
October 18 2011
Los Angeles, CA – Joseph Ratzinger is certainly not the most troubled Pope in history, but he is pretty close. While no one can expect, particularly in a day when access to information is so easy to come by, that anyone, even the Pope, would be immune to skeletons in the closet. For Ratzinger, better known as Benedict XVI, those skeletons have very much become a problem.
The biggest of those issues has certainly been his participation in covering up and ignoring sexual abuse allegations made against Priests on multiple occasions. Though he has not done such things as Pope, those actions are very much prevalent in his closet.
The other major issue for Ratzinger has been his participation in the Hitler Youth as a child. Though he has repeatedly denied any active work with the organization, which was a requirement for all children in Nazi Germany, that is exactly what one would expect from a Nazi. In fact, virtually all former Nazis have denied wrong doing, just as the Pope has done, leading to suggestions that he is hiding something. Now one prominent person, possible Communist Susan Sarandon, has flat out called the Pope a Nazi, something that is certainly not going over well in Papal circles.
“Not this Nazi one we have now,” Sarandon said in an interview on Monday. She was referencing the previous Pope whom she had sent a copy of the book ‘Dead Man Walking’. Sarandon starred in the film version of that book.
The Vatican has not officially responded to the comment, which she repeated in another interview, but Catholic groups have responded with vitriol, calling Sarandon all manner of nasty names just like she did to their Pope.
“It is very hard to find someone dumber. She is ignorant and full of hatred to the Catholic Church,” said Bill Donohue of the notoriously intolerant Catholic League. Donohue has in the past called everyone in Hollywood Communists and other nasty names. Presumably, Sarandon was included in those statements.
The Hitler Youth was required to engage in military training and indoctrination into the Nazi ideology. Mostly they went camping, sent up tents, and said nasty things about Jews. It’s not clear if Sarandon was involved with a similar Communist-related group in her youth.
“There is no doubt that throwing around the ‘Nazi’ label has become in vogue in recent years and usually in reference to irrational and not nearly as bad circumstances. Personally, I think there is very little chance that using that term will diminish what actually happened but you never know. That said, there are real Nazis still around and to them to term is totally sensible,” said Scrape TV Religion analyst Bertram Gas. “I can totally understand why the Catholics would get uppity about this. I mean they did elect a Nazi as Pope and so they are going to be a little sensitive when people mention it, but they shouldn’t get riled up by what Sarandon says. The Communists are just as good at propaganda as the Nazis or the Catholic Church. You just have to be able to look through it and see it for what it is. Besides, shouldn’t Sarandon be making a movie. Oh, wait...”
Sarandon does have a number of movies lined up, believe it or not.
