WESTERN TERRORISTS SEEKING NEW VOICE AFTER DEATH OF AL-AWLAKI

October 2 2011

Washington, D.C. – Few would argue that being a terrorist has ever been an easy job, but for many things have only gotten harder this year. Piling on the intrinsic difficulties of international terrorism as a profession, many terrorist this year have also seen the demise of their leadership, something which has no doubt seeded confusion and instability throughout the industry.bin laden

First, of course, was the death of Osama bin Laden which created shockwaves throughout the biggest terror organization in the world. Now, with the death of yet another high profile Al-Qaeda leader, Anwar al-Awlaki, many are left spiralling, unsure of their future and now lacking a real voice and identity, particularly members in the West who were already so far removed from the root of the organization.

“It is a challenge but one that we must meet. We mourn the death of al-Awlaki but we recognize that he is a martyr for the cause, a martyr for the greater good. His death will not go un-avenged or un-honoured,” said one local terrorist. “There is little doubt, though, that it has made things more challenging for us. Already it was more difficult for many of us here in the West to stay on track, on target with the goals and identity of the movement because we are so far removed. Al-Awlaki was that connection, and now that connection has been severed. This will make it more of a challenge.”al-Awlaki

Al-Awlaki was the American-born leader of the Yemeni division of Al-Qaeda. He was killed in a drone strike earlier this week.

“With Allah’s help all our people will stay strong. This is not the end of the movement, this is the start of something new. Our voice will not be silenced by these actions but will in fact only become stronger. These are great days as we honour the sacrifice made by our brother al-Awlaki,” said another terrorist who has long been seeking the top job in the states. “We see these things only as challenges not obstacles and we warn the West that such actions will only steady our resolve. You cannot stop our movement, not by killing our leaders. These things only make us more powerful.”

Al-Awlaki was killed after stopping for breakfast in Yemen. That has apparently prompted the organization as a whole to ban breakfasts, making many terrorist terrorist kid
lethargic and dopey until late afternoon. Western divisions have also implemented the order.

“This is a very important move in the war on terror, there is no doubt about that. Remember that al-Awlaki was a front-runner for the top job in the organization after bin Laden was killed meaning that he is a significant player in the group. His death means a lot because he was a guy who actually set up attacks and didn’t just act as a figurehead,” said Scrape TV Terrorism analyst Doug Davids. “More importantly, he acted as connection, even just symbolic, for the West. Many terrorists born in western nations used him as a living example of what could be accomplished if you put your mind to it, that you could rise to power, whether you were born in Riyadh or New Mexico. That has been lost now, no matter what they say. It will never be the same for them in the West.”

Al-Awlaki’s Alma Mater Colorado State University has no plans to honour his death
