AMY WINEHOUSE CELEBRATES TRIP TO REHAB WITH BOTTLE OF VODKA

Nottingham, U.K. – Addiction is a tough thing for anyone to overcome, but it has to be particularly tough when it is attempted in the glare of the celebrity spotlight. Some famous people have overcome their addictions and gone onto great success, but 
many have fallen to the worst that addiction can do, causing it to destroy their lives and occasionally even killing them. Those failures have been well documented and lamented, but no matter how famous those cases have become, they are repeated over and over again.
For some people addiction is even more difficult to overcome because they simply don’t want to get past it. For some people their addictions are an essential part of their lives, as important as breathing. No matter how many examples set before them, no matter how well they know the dangers of their addictions, some people simply refuse to stop whatever it is they do, including Amy Winehouse. Almost as soon as Winehouse made it big on the pop scene, so too did her addictions, the latter of which quickly became her greatest claim to fame. Since that rise began, starting with the release of ‘Back to Black’ in 2006, there has hardly been a story written about the singer which has not involved her use of drugs and alcohol. That in 
turn has made her into a poster child for celebrity and addiction, yet Winehouse has remained undaunted, committing fully to her craft and even celebrating her stints in rehab, including a blowout vodka party before committal this week.
“Amy is so happy to be going back to rehab. She’s got a lot of plans for the summer and she wants to be in tip-top shape for her tour. Further than that thought, rehab has become a really special place to her and she is always happy to return,” said a spokesperson for the singer. “I won’t comment on the specifics of her going away party, but I can tell you that it was a great time and Amy really enjoyed herself. She can hardly wait until the next time.”
Winehouse checked into a Priory Clinic facility, which is thought to be her favourite.
“Amy has become very much a connoisseur of these things of late and she knows what she likes and doesn’t like. This stint in rehab will get her organized for the summer and then, hopefully, she’ll be back in the fall. It really is a home away from home for her,” continued the spokesperson. “She was so happy about going back she even celebrated on the way there, bringing a small bottle of vodka with her for the long car trip. She is really hopeful that this will be a great time and that it will allow her to relax before kicking off this tour. She is as happy as she ever has been.”
The singer will be touring Europe through much of the summer.
“We all struggle with some degree of addiction, but for some it is a different beast altogether. For some people those addictions become totally consuming and have a deleterious effect on their lives. It’s not quite the same thing as say being addicted to potato chips or Mars bars,” said Scrape TV Health analyst Rebecca Phelps. “It isn’t, however, the thing to which they are addicted. It is the level of addiction that’s important, the focus and power of it in their lives that is really important. If their entire life revolves around the next fix, it is probably gone too far. With Winehouse that does appear to be the case. It’s very clear that she has this compelling need to visit rehab and she does whatever she can to facilitate this. It’s quite sad really, and she has all these enablers around her pushing her into these facilities. Until that ends she will never get better.”
Winehouse was apparently found sober in her room on her first night at the facility.
