AMY WINEHOUSE FINALLY DECLARED DEAD AFTER 5 YEARS

London, U.K. - It started out great. Amy Winehouse was only 22 when she broke through to the mainstream, brining her retro style and stunning voice to the pop charts, making a success out a style most people had assumed was long dead. It 
made Winehouse an international star, selling millions of records and selling out shows all over the globe. Unfortunately, it also led to self-indulgence and self-abuse that rapidly derailed all that early promise and success.
Like too many young celebrities, Winehouse indulged in the excess of the rock star lifestyle, binging on drugs and booze. Quickly it became apparent that things were falling apart. Not only had her lifestyle become treacherous, but it could be seen on her face, in her skeletal frame, and in her rapidly diminishing voice. Most people assumed that it would only be a matter of time before Winehouse succumbed to her addictions and indulgences, and that is exactly what police officials have finally stated today. Winehouse officially died today at a London home more than five years after her career and long past the time when most people assumed she was already dead. It is not yet clear what may have caused Winehouse’s official death or why it took so long for officials to declare her officially deceased.
“Police and ambulance responded to a call to a central London him early Saturday 
evening. In that home they found a 27-year old woman unresponsive to medical treatment. It was determined that the individual had expired sometime before emergency personnel arrived. We have determined that this individual was indeed popular singer Amy Winehouse,” said a police spokesperson. “We are currently in the midst of the investigation in an effort to determine the time and cause of death of this individual. When we have determined what exactly happened in this home we will have a further statement.”
Speculation revolves around inevitability as the principal cause of death.
“I think most people just assumed that this had already happened. I mean you heard about her every now and then but not really, not like you heard about other celebrities. And to see her, I mean I always assumed that it was kind of ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ type of situation where people were just propping her up. It may have well have been at least, it would have made for better performances,” said Scrape TV Music analyst Dylan Chambers. “It seemed inevitable really that something like this was going to occur, that eventually they were going to determine that she was actually dead so this news doesn’t really come as a shock. If she wasn’t already dead 
all those years ago it became fairly clear that she might as well have been. It had really gotten to the point where she had started to look a little unhealthy and so it makes sense.”
Winehouse last attempted to perform earlier this year but cut the first show of her tour short after being booed off stage.
“The whole decline is really sad. This end was probably inevitable, this declaration of her death, but the actual death, I mean that really did happen a couple of years ago. Anyone who says any different is really fooling themselves. This is just official confirmation of what has long been the case,” continued Chambers. “Unfortunately this means that any plans to move her into a haunted house or to bring about the zombie apocalypse are likely dead. That’s kind of sad, at least she would have been better at that then she was at singing.”
Winehouse’s remains will likely be reanimated for a greatest hits album.
