Los Angeles, CA – No matter how far women’s rights have come, no matter equal pay or social rights have been made, there still remains a fundamental difference between the genders. That difference is also one which is likely to persist for as long 
as human beings have opposing genders, which may be forever. No matter how the laws might have changed, no matter how attitudes might have shifted, women are still often subject the unwelcome and sometimes dangerous advances of men.
Perhaps the most difficult part of that equation is that it is exactly the thing that makes a woman a woman, beauty and charm, which is the most dangerous part of the equation. Whether we like to admit it or not, beautiful women are the focus of attention by men, men both rational and slightly unbalanced. The one thing that makes a woman a woman is the thing which can be the most dangerous, the thing which always keeps them separate and potential victims. Fortunately such things aren’t all that common, at least not the extreme examples, leaving women to deal with slimy and sleazy pick-ups in bars for the most part. However, when those extreme incidents do occur they tend to strike fear into all women, especially when they happen to famous women, like Halle Berry who is now dealing with her own stalker, someone who may very well have seen her without her makeup.
“Halle is very shaken by the whole incident. She is deeply concerned about this individual and what his intentions might be. If he had appeared once it would have been scary, but he came again after she called the police and that is very scary,” said an insider. “Halle is holed up in her room despite the police presence. She is very concerned about her safety and the safety of the little one, but she is mostly concerned that whoever this is might have seen her without makeup. She keeps asking us to reassure her that it was too dark, that he couldn’t have seen her.”
The stalker appeared on Saturday and then again on Sunday. He managed to escape before police arrived.
“She’s really worried that he might have had a camera, like one of the phone cameras, and that he might have been able to get a shot of her. She wasn’t wearing any makeup of any kind on Saturday. She was just taking it easy, the one day of the year she decided to just relax and this happens,” continued the insider. “She made sure she was made up the next day. I don’t think she’s taken it off since the incident. She even did a quick job before the police arrived. It’s really eating her up because she doesn’t know one way or the other. She really hopes they catch whoever this was and find out whether or not he has pictures.”
Police are still in the area trying to find a suspect.
“It would be a bit of an overstatement to say that her career could be ended as a result of this incident, but it certainly wouldn’t be helped. I think candid pictures of her would have been really problematic back when she was making movies, but now it would have limited impact,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “However anytime a celebrity is spotted without makeup it’s a dangerous thing. For Berry in particular it almost doesn’t matter how her career would be affected, it’s more about how she herself would be impacted. I’m sure if those pictures come out she won’t feel secure for a long, long time.”
Berry has reportedly been surrounded by makeup experts since early Monday morning.
