J.K. ROWLING FINALLY GETS RECOGNITION FOR HARRY POTTER FRANCHISE

London, U.K. – History is replete with stories of great minds going unknown in their own time. Sometimes those people are eventually appreciated in later life, long past the time when it could do them any good, and sometimes they only receive 
recognition in death, when it has absolutely no value to them personally. While we can look on those things diplomatically, saying it’s great that they finally got what they deserved, that has little effect on the people themselves as they struggled to be acknowledged.
Today we live in more enlightened times when great minds are often celebrated rather than dismissed. Gone are the superstitions of the past, the type of religious and social prejudices which forced great minds to the peripheries of society. Today’s world is actually much different in that we actually seek out great minds and reward them with fame and great wealth, at least in the western world. Sometimes, however, people still fall through the cracks. Occasionally there are people who, despite having all the opportunities in the world, simply don’t crack through to the mainstream even in our advanced world. Luckily for millions of Harry Potter fans around the world, J.K. Rowling was not one of those people. He books have sold hundreds of millions of copies and the movies based on them have all been blockbusters. Now Rowling is finally getting a share of that success in the form of a very expensive bracelet.
“Jo was thrilled to just have the party, but the bracelet was the icing on the cake. It was so glamorous, so indulgent, and to have it brought to her by the head of Warner
Brothers was something else. This is a really special day for her,” said a Rowling friend. “It’s really gratifying that these stories have made so many people happy and she has done well by them, no doubt of that, but this bracelet is just something else. She is ecstatic, beside herself even.”
The bracelet is apparently made of white gold and encrusted with 40 diamonds. It’s believed to be worth millions.
“I mean she has made a good living off these books but this goes to another level. She is so thankful to the people at Warner Brothers for the gift. It really is a special acknowledgement of all the hard work she has done. She doesn’t know where she’s going to wear it, but she’s happy to have it,” continued the insider. “At this stage she is just taking what’s coming to her. She is so thankful to everyone involved with the process and all the great friends she has made. She already feels blessed, but this just goes beyond. The beauty and expense of the bracelet really doesn’t matter, what’s important is that she is being recognized for all her work. That is what really makes it all worth it, that’s why she did this.”
The bracelet was given to Rowling at an after-party following the premiere of the latest, and last, Potter film.
“For most artists money isn’t really the motivator. That’s why you see obviously wealth people showing up at casinos and small clubs. They don’t do it for the money, they do it to entertain. For many of them the recognition, not really fame, is the most important part of the whole process,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “I’m sure that is the case with Rowling. Sure, she has a billion dollars but it is little gestures like this that really matter. It’s easy to get lost in a maze of money and success, but these little human touches, these are the things that really make it worth doing for most people. Nothing says I love you like a multi-million dollar piece of jewellery after all. Rowling is a lucky gal.”
Rowling is apparently planning on having the gold melted down and turned into a fork. The diamonds will be used to balance her refrigerator which keeps humming and annoying her dogs.
