JENNIFER ANISTON TURNS DOWN ROLE IN SEQUEL TO MR. & MRS. SMITH

Los Angeles, CA – Anyone who has been on the receiving end of a broken heart can understand how certain things are just never the same. Maybe it’s the song you both loved, or the first movie you went to see, or that book that she insisted you read and 
you loved because she did. Some things are inextricably tied to that person, and because they are gone, also to the loss of that person, and those are things you can never see in a rational way ever again.
Everyone who has had a broken heart understands that feeling and though time does heal those wounds, sometimes, there are certain things that you simply cannot get over. There are certain things and places that will always be tied to that other person and try as you might, it’s impossible to separate them. They are forever tainted. For movie stare Jennifer Aniston there is no doubt what that thing is, and everyone knows it. That day that Brad Pitt first received the script for Mr. & Mrs. Smith, the day he first went to rehearsal, the first day of shooting. For Aniston those things are likely very potent in her mind, things from which she may never recover, which made it very unlikely that she would ever accept a role in the sequel which producers are currently prepping.
“Jen certainly doesn’t want to be a part of that movie. She’s actually very disturbed that the thing is happening at all to be honest. She doesn’t know how the script ended up on her desk, that’s something she’s going to have to talk to her agents 
about,” said an Aniston insider. “She realizes all too well that her movie career hasn’t gone as well as she would have liked, and she could certainly use a blockbuster, but this is the wrong project. There is very little chance that she will take part in this movie in any capacity.”
The original film starred Aniston’s then husband Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Aniston and Pitt split soon after filming. Pitt and Jolie have been a couple ever since and have all kinds of kids.
“Look, she doesn’t like anything about the movie. She thinks about this all the time, like all the time. I mean what if somebody else took the role? What if Nicole Kidman had stayed on? Most people don’t realize this but Brad actually dropped out at one point. She actually encouraged him to go back. That’s a tough thing to deal with,” continued the insider. “She’s sure the movie will be a hit even if it has been years since the last one premiered but that doesn’t mean she wants to be a part of it. I mean maybe, maybe if they paid her a lot of money and she got to kill Angelina, maybe. She’s always tried to be the better person though and is very happy with where her life has gone since s revisiting this period is not something she’s looking for.”
Recently Aniston began a relationship with actor Justin Theroux, who had been in a long term relationship with someone else.
“It could be a good role if they beefed it up a bit but in its current state it isn’t something she feels would be right for her. If they make it right and come back to her, maybe, but no guarantees,” continued the insider. “Jen is in a spot where she doesn’t need to just take roles anymore. She chooses every project very carefully. It’s not her fault that people don’t go and see them, she knows they are good and she does everything right. Their failure has nothing to do with her. She doesn’t feel this project is right, at least not yet, but if that changes she is more than willing listen.”
Aniston last starred alongside Adam Sandler in ‘Just Go with It’, his least successful movie in a years.
