OPRAH WINFREY DECLINES COMMENT AFTER BEING FIRED FROM TALK SHOW

Chicago, IL – For a quarter of a century, she has been there. Whether it is giving away cars, promoting books, or just engaging in girl chat, Oprah has been there for millions of women. She is an institution, a titan that stood above all others, almost 
not even a person anymore. With a media empire that generates billions of dollars, Oprah, the poor girl from Mississippi, became something that most only dream of. She is, essentially, the living embodiment of the American Dream.
Despite all that success and despite her near God-like presence, there are still things that ‘O’ cannot prevent. Just as she has identified with ordinary Americans for so long, Winfrey has now found herself in the same situation as many of them, without a job. The Queen of talk has signed onto her last show, she has met her audience just as she had done for the last twenty-five years for the last time. Oprah Winfrey has been fired. Stunning many, Winfrey announced that her final show will air on Wednesday after producers decided not to renew her contract. While that loss is certainly shocking and leaves a gap for many fans, it is Oprah herself who will be most affected by the decision to end her tenure. Thus far, Winfrey has had no comment on the events leading up to her departure or her future plans.
“I can confirm that the show which aired on Wednesday will be the last original program from Oprah and Harpo productions. It has been a great run and Ms. Winfrey would like to thank her fans for all their support and love over the years,” said a 
spokesperson for Winfrey’s production company. “All good things must come to an end, and this is one of those good things. While Ms. Winfrey has no comment on her specific plans going forward, she would like to reassure all her fans that she will not go away, that she will not abandon them, and that she will not go away forever.”
Winfrey is thought to be consoling herself in one of her many mansions and watching shows on her own television network.
“This is certainly the end of an era, and something totally shocking. I personally expected Oprah to be on forever, perhaps eventually replaced by a robotic version of herself, but always on. I expected that this was something which would span generations, like cars or ketchup. It’s strange that she’s not going to be around anymore,” said Scrape TV Media analyst Sarah Piper. “Oprah is the institution, not a version of it. She is the standard by which everyone else is assessed and upon which everything else is based. To see her gone, and so quickly, is something almost unimaginable. I suppose in the back of your mind one could expect this happening eventually, but to actually have it come about is something else entirely.”
It’s expected that older programs will continue to air until a replacement is found.
“There are certain things that you expect are just irreplaceable, and this was one of them. I can’t even imagine what could have led to this decision to axe her. Her ratings still seemed good but who knows about these things. Hopefully she didn’t do anything untoward, but that does seem unlikely,” continued Piper. “Perhaps it was just a regime change, or a desire to change the makeup of things. Sometimes change for its own sake is a good thing, you just never thought that someone like Oprah would be caught up in that. Very sad day indeed.”
Stedman Graham, Winfrey’s long time boyfriend, was seen going in and out of a Chicago apartment shortly after the news broke.
