WIL WHEATON GRANTED RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST KIEFER SUTHERLAND

Los Angeles, CA – There are some relationships that simply don’t go the way either party hoped they would. Sometimes those chasms form as a result of egos or arguments over simple things, but sometimes things just don’t work. Sometimes 
relationships between people are simply doomed from the start for no tangible reason. Sometimes, simply, people just don’t get along and no amount of patience or conversation will ever make things right between those two people.
While most people have experienced such relationships in their own lives it is still often upsetting to see it happen between other people, particularly when they care about the two individuals involved. Often, despite our personal experience with such things, those schisms are difficult to comprehend, and even more difficult to accept, but sometimes we just have to move on regardless of whether or not it makes sense to us. Such a schism is exactly what has formed between two actors that many people hold dear to their hearts for performances in a single movie, a movie that appears to be to root of their issues. For people of a certain generation, the conflict between Gordie Lachance and Ace Merrill in ‘Stand By Me’ was a defining moment of their youth, but for the actors involved it was the start of a toxic relationship that has lead to a restraining order being issued against Kiefer Sutherland after more than two decades of harassment.
“Mr. Wheaton is very relieved that the judge saw fit to issue this order. We hope that this is the beginning of the end of the bullying and harassment that he has been so much a part of his life for the last twenty-five years,” said a spokesperson for the actor. “This is a step which we had hoped to avoid, but unfortunately Mr. Sutherland’s repeated contacts, despite many requests to cease, have led us to this action. We expect this to be the end of this issue once and for all.”
Sutherland has apparently spent a great deal of time calling Wheaton and spending time near his home in Arcadia. The new order will prohibit him from getting within 200 yards.
“Mr. Sutherland is very much opposed to this order. He sees this as a besmirching of his character and his good reputation. Mr. Wheaton appears to have an impression that he has been harassed and stalked by my client, but nothing could be further from the truth. Any intermittent contact between these two individuals is merely a coincidence and a result of living in the same town,” said a lawyer for Sutherland. “We believe that this is a result of jealousy related to the success that Mr. Sutherland has had in his acting career, something which Mr. Wheaton, despite being the star of that film, has not been able to accomplish. We are making a formal request that this order be lifted and that a formal apology be issued by Mr. Wheaton.”
Fellow co-stars Corey Feldman and Jerry O’Connell have not sought similar orders.
“It is very rare, really kind of unheard of, to see two celebrities take out these types of orders on each other when there isn’t a prominent abuse or assault case. It’s also odd that it has happened so late, considering how long ago this apparently started. I don’t think this is good for either party,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “I mean if something illicit is going on its absolutely necessary, but it is a shame that they couldn’t work out their differences without resorting to this kind of thing which frankly just makes both of them look bad.”
Reportedly, the grass at the ranch where River Phoenix’s ashes were spread has remained brown and dry, likely as a result of repeated urination.
