BOBBI KRISTINA INTERVIEW MAY BE THE HIT OPRAH HAS BEEN JONESING FOR
March 3 2012
Chicago, IL – When Whitney Houston died three weeks ago people around the world went into mourning, as the world often does when a celebrity dies. While it was certainly not a shock that Houston passed away at a relatively young age, given her personal issues, it was nonetheless a sad happening for many people, particularly those who grew up with Houston’s music and those who understandably had a great deal of respect for that voice.
Now that the sensation over the death has abated, life has started to finally get back to normal for everyone. Most fans have long ago moved on an, surely, family and friends of Houston have started to settle into a kind of normalcy once again, including daughter Bobbi Kristina.
It is Bobbi Kristina that has certainly been the most impacted by the death of Houston, as beloved as she was by so many people. Only 18 and largely without support from her father, Bobbi Kristina has reportedly been struggling greatly with the death of her mother, something she will likely discuss with Oprah Winfrey when she appears on her show next Sunday. Oprah, a close friend of the family, will no doubt try and help Bobbi
Kristina recover and heal, while at the same time finally salve the pain of the miserable rating her network has endured since it was launched.
“It’s going to be a good show. Everyone loves Oprah and they really did feel that this was the best platform to discuss deep personal feelings with the rest of the world. Everyone feels that enough time has passed to allow for an honest discussion which everyone hopes will benefit both sides,” said a Houston family insider. “There was really only one person they considered when they thought about going on TV and talking about things with millions of strangers and that was Oprah. Everyone really feels that this will help Bobbi Kristina get past things, to deal with it in a positive way.”
Bobbi Kristina has never been inclined towards to spotlight until now, perhaps feeling she needs to carry her mother’s legacy.
Following the funeral, Bobbi Kristina showed her willingness to take over for her mother by sneaking off and getting high while the rest of the family ate.
“Oprah really feels for Bobbi Kristina, on a deep level. I mean you know Oprah, you know how much she cares about people and this is a really sad story and she is so thrilled that she is going to be able to help, even a little bit, resolve these issues for Bobbi Kristina,” said an Oprah insider. “She knows that she won’t be able to resolve all the issues but she does feel that Bobbi Kristina will be a better person having talked with her. That’s what Oprah does, she makes people better people. The ratings will certainly be nice but that’s not the only reason. Not even the primary reason, seriously.”
Winfrey’s network OWN has suffered stagnant ratings pretty much since the start, forcing the billionaire to go on shows herself because no one is interested in watching anything else.
Bobbi Kristina will be accompanied by her aunt and uncle on the show, which will probably make it more difficult to sneak off and score some blow during the commercial breaks.
