CONRAD MURRAY GUILTY IN THRILLER OF A TRIAL
November 7 2011
Los Angeles, CA - It’s finally over, at least for now. The drama that began more than two years ago with the death of music legend Michael Jackson has finally reached some measure of resolve after a jury delivered a verdict of guilt against Dr. Conrad Murray. Murray had been Jackson’s personal physician at the time of his death.
That news will no doubt come as a relief to the millions of fans of Michael Jackson around the world who lost their hero, and now have someone to blame. While the penalty phase, and appeals trial, will still extend the case over the next few years, but for most people the story is complete. Conrad Murray, whether by accident or intent, was responsible for the death of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop.
Most, of course expected that Murray, given the profile of the case and details of the charge, had little chance to beat it, but now that the final verdict has been rendered, it is definitive that this particular smooth criminal will not get away with his actions.
“It’s a great day for the Jackson family and for the fans of Michael Jackson all over the world. While we still mourn the death of the man we loved, we are glad that the person responsible for his demise has finally been forced to stand for justice,” said a spokesperson for the Jackson family. “This has been a long and hard trial for all of us but we are glad to have gone through it to finally achieve justice for Michael.”
The details of the appeal have not yet been sorted out, though will likely be decided now that Murray can truly see the man in the mirror and his own responsibilities.
Murray has requested that media “please, just leave me alone.”
“This is pretty much what people would have expected, realistically. They had a very bad case and there was little chance that they were going to get out of it. They’re only hope was to mitigate the charge, which it doesn’t appear they were able to do and now Murray is going to go to jail,” said Scrape TV Crime analyst Willard Weston. “I mean he started something, we wanted to, and now he has to finish it. I’m sure this isn’t how he saw things going but this is the way things have gone and he just has to deal with that. It’s human nature.”
Murray, convicted of manslaughter in such a high profile case, will likely be sent somewhere where there won’t be any sunshine.
“Murray will get one more chance at this, that is the way the courts work in California but it is unlikely that much will change. It’s really too bad that things went this way for Murray, but they did and this is what happened. Sad but true,” continued Weston. “As far as this case as a whole goes, though, we’re almost there. The big thing is done, but the story will not be complete for a long time. I’m sure many fans will remember this time as an important one no matter how long this case goes on. It’s a great victory for friends and family.”
Murray will likely be left mostly all alone following the conviction.
