GEORGE CLOONEY MAKES FINAL CUT FOR BERLUSCONI SEX TRIAL

Milan, Italy – It’s tough to look back on the early days of George Clooney’s career simply because it seems so remarkable that he had to go through what he had to go through. As the Cary Grant of the modern era it’s now difficult to imagine Clooney being anything other than a star, but for years that it exactly what he was. 
In fact, despite formidable show biz connections, it wasn’t until his mid-thirties that Clooney finally started to get some traction in his career, despite more than a decade of trying. Now though, of course, those days are behind him and pretty much no matter what happens George Clooney will always be a star, having his choice of roles and lifestyle.
Still, occasionally Clooney does have to compete at least a little for things he wants, something that happened to Gorgeous George in Italy, falling on the shortlist for the trial of Silvio Berlusconi as he faces a bevy of sex charges. Now though, Clooney has made the final list and will be whisked away to Italy to testify, as if anyone had any doubt that he would make the final cut.
“George isn’t really sure what he can contribute to the trial but he is glad to help in any way he is able. He is thrilled and humbled by the opportunity to appear before the Italian court and he will, as he always does, make his best effort,” said a spokesperson for the actor. “This is an incredible honour and a unique one and George is very excited about the opportunity it presents.”
The girl at the centre of the trial, a 17-year old, claimed to have seen Clooney at a party thrown by the former Prime Minister before having sex with the latter.
Clooney has in the past claimed to have no recollection of the woman or the party, but will, as he always does, do his best on the stand.
“It seems odd since I've only met Berlusconi once and that was in an attempt to get aid into Darfur,” a rep for Clooney said back in March when his name first appeared on the shortlist. There is no evidence that Clooney has had any better recollection of the meeting with the teen prostitute since that statement.
“Look, this is George Clooney so I’m sure he’s been to lots of parties with teen prostitutes and world leaders and eventually it’s got to be tough to remember all the names and faces. I’m sure he will do his best but even when you’re George Clooney there’s only so much that a person can do and remember,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “He may be dreamy as all get out but he is still human and that means he will have human memory issues. I bet though, at the very least, he will charm more than a few jurors while on the stand so at least he’s got that going for him.”
Clooney’s ex-girlfriend will also be at the party. They are, as expected, totally cool with each other and will likely get along great during the course of the trial.
