KANYE WEST ALREADY PLANNING FOR HIS FUNERAL
December 5 2011
Los Angeles, CA – Rarely do artists such as Kanye West come along. The blend of braggadocio, self-involvement, and massive talent that West has displayed has been unlike anything in the history of pop music. Yes, West has been a bit arrogant at times, but he has always backed up his boasting with quality work. His money has always been where his mouth is, that is the rarity of the situation.
West too has always upped himself. Every time it seems like he has gone as far as a person can go, West steps it up to another level, saying things that shock people who swore he could never shock again. For that behaviour some people love Kanye, some people hate him, but no one ignores him. That is one thing above all that West makes sure of.
Now West is making sure that he will be remembered long after he is gone from this world, drawing up plans for his eventual funeral including a guest list which, of course, includes world leaders both living and dead, and just about everyone else who owes their success to Yeezy.
“I was just thinking about my funeral and stuff a couple days ago and thinking who would be at the funeral. People who I want to be in the funeral? I wanna have world leaders that were, like, affected, that said, you know, 'Kanye gave me my shot here.' Or 'he pushed me,' or 'he told me to believe in myself,' or 'when I saw this, it made me feel like that.' I wanna affect people like that when I, like, pass away,” said West.
It’s not clear how many world leaders would attend West’s funeral if were held today, nor how many people would like to test that.
At 34 it is not expected that that funeral will be held for a long time to come, time with which West will likely use to influence a generation of world leaders and possibly bring back a few from the dead.
“There is no doubt, no debate at all, that West’s musical prowess is solid. Normally when people act with the kind of eccentricity that West does the quality of the work suffers but not with West. In fact it has probably gotten better, almost like he feeds off his own noise,” said Scrape TV Music analyst Dylan Chambers. “It’s pretty cool actually that he has been able to maintain it at this level and continue to talk the way he does. I would imagine that when he does die there will be a lot of people at his funeral if he can keep this up. Or not, I mean he isn’t Michael Jackson as much as he wants to be.”
Shortly after Jackson’s death, West vowed to take over as the King of Pop which hasn’t really happened.
“People rarely plan their own funeral. It’s a good idea, at least basics like a burial plot and casket, that really helps out the family, but creating a guest list is something else entirely. Normally people will just allow whoever wants to come, come, but not much about Kanye is normal,” continued Chambers. “Unless he dies soon though that list is going to be out of date. He is much younger than most of the current world leaders and if dies at an average age, they will be long dead. Assuming he doesn’t develop some kind of resurrection technology, he will have to die soon if he wants people like Obama at his funeral. Someone should tell him that, like soon.”
Abraham Lincoln is apparently already on the list. It’s not clear if he will resurrect himself just to attend Kanye’s funeral or if he will just show up for the viewing.
