ROSIE O’DONNELL MANAGES TO SQUEEZE HERSELF AND SHOW INTO SMALLER STUDIO

Chicago, IL – For a brief period Rosie O’Donnell has the most unexpected of talk show stars. Formerly a fairly raunchy comedian, O’Donnell somehow landed herself a chat show in the mid-90’s and became a huge star, perhaps the biggest talker on the planet for a little while, before eventually leaving television and wandering in the wilds of entertainment for a little while.
Eventually she was going come back. A star that shone that brightly wasn’t going to go dark forever, and when it was announced that she would be hosting a new show on Oprah Winfrey’s fledgling television network, OWN, it seemed like a perfect match. Unfortunately things haven’t worked out all that well so far.
With dismal ratings, matching for the most part the ratings of just about every other show on the network, O’Donnell’s show is on the cusp and now has been trimmed significantly in an effort to make it a little more of a player.
Cutting 30 employees and moving into a smaller studio space, the retooled version of the show is hoping to gain more attention and remain frugal. Thankfully it appears that O’Donnell, still occasionally volatile, is on board with the move and fitting nicely into her new snug surroundings despite everyone’s expectations to the contrary.
“It’s tough to see so many people go but this is just the reality of things here right now. Everyone believe in Rosie and believes in the show but it was pretty clear that we just weren’t doing what we needed to do to make this thing happen. We all want the show to go on in some form at least,” said an insider with the show. “It’s a tough 
adjustment, not only losing all those people but also having to work in such cramped surroundings. Rosie has been great though, very accommodating, and making sure that we all have as much space as we need to work. I don’t know how she does it every day.”
The show had originally shot in Winfrey’s old studio but has now moved to one of her many living rooms.
It’s not clear what other sacrifices O’Donnell has had to make to fit the show into the new surroundings, but she appears ready to do what she needs to do in order to gain a more sizable audience.
“This whole situation with OWN has to be a very distressing thing for Winfrey and 
something she is likely having a lot of difficulty dealing with. She is so used to success, waking up into success for so many years, and having this network quite simply be a failure every single day. I mean it isn’t that it’s done poorly, it’s failing flat out and that has to be a hard thing to deal with every day,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “Luckily she does appear to have good people on board, people who are willing to tighten their belts no matter how much it hurts so that everyone has the best chance at having success. O’Donnell has been a real trooper, but of course she doesn’t have much of an option I guess. I’m not sure who else would have her at this stage.”
O’Donnell apparently had no comment on the change, though it is difficult to understand her with her face pressed up against the window.
