WESLEY SNIPES SAYS HE DOESN’T NEED TO PAY MASSIVE AMERICAN EXPRESS BILL

Lewis Run, PA – Taxation has long been an issue for many people in America, just as it is today, but the hard reality is that without taxation America as a nation just wouldn’t exist, nor would any other country. Governments are a nation and without funds governments would cease to exist, and those funds come from taxes, no matter whether people like that or not.
Some, though, still protest the very existence of taxes which tends to get them in trouble, even big movie stars. Wesley Snipes found that out the hard way after not paying his taxes for years landed him in prison for two years. Snipes has since relented on his insistence that he is not obligated to pay taxes in America, but that good favour has not extended to his credit card payments.
According to American Express Snipes still owes them nearly $30,000, an amount he has steadfastly refused to pay. Now the company is taking Snipes to court to try and extract the money from him, despite his stay in prison and insistence that he, like everyone else, should not be obligated to pay back charges on credit cards.
“We are currently in the midst of going over the claims from American Express but I can say at this stage that Wesley has steadfastly maintained that he is not obligated to repay this or any fee to this company. Wesley is not a resident of American Express and thus not obligated to pay their taxes,” said a lawyer for the actor. “We will fight this in court and we will win. This is not the first time we have encountered this kind of aggression and we will stand as we have stood before.”
The last time Snipes stood against bill collectors he ended up where he is now. It’s not yet clear if he could end up in an American Express prison over the sum.
Snipes has also run into other similar lawsuits for refusing to pay, often because he didn’t consider himself a resident of any of those other institutions.
Snipes is due to be released in 2013, provided the scuffle with Amex doesn’t put him into even more trouble.
“At this stage Snipes should really just consider paying off his bills and moving on with his life. He will have plenty of time to protest fees once he is out of prison and able to earn real money again. I’m sure he’s saved quite bit, especially since he hasn’t paid for anything in so many years, but that money could erode very quickly if he isn’t adding to it on a regular basis,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “Once he’s out and making terrible movies again he can continue his protest but as long as this foreign government has him in their custody he should just try to keep a low profile and that means paying his bills. The money he makes in prison really isn’t going to contribute much to his bottom line.”
Snipes has also refused to pay the cigarettes he owes Boris in prison, which is leading to a little bit if trouble between the pair.
