ROBERT PATTINSON EVEN MORE BORED IN NEW MOON

November 14 2009

Hollywood, CA – The Twilight saga, both in books and movies, has become a bona fide cultural phenomenon amongst fans an in the general public. That popularity has of course not been isolated to the vampire tales themselves but has also extended to robert pattinson kristen stewart twilight
the stars of the films who have become full-fledged celebrities since the release of the first movie in November of last year. The subject of tabloid speculation and rabid fan obsession, Robert Pattinson, Kristin Stewart, and Taylor Lautner have become stars over the last year, something only likely to escalate with the release of ‘New Moon’.

It is Stewart and Pattinson who have become the biggest breakthrough stars as a result of the film. With their personal life a constant source of speculation, reflecting in many ways their onscreen portrayals, the pair has kept tongues wagging and endless offers for new roles. Early reviews of the newest film in the series have been spreading across the web and have been, for the most part, polite. While many have noted the more robust storytelling, the growing confidence of the leads, and the enhanced special effects as key selling points many critics believe that it is Robert Pattinson boredom that will be the key selling point for the film.robert pattinson twlight

“While there are many points to nit-pick, ultimately the film is going to be a massive hit. That has something to do with the story but it mostly has to do with the unique appeal of the two leads. Both Kristin Stewart and Robert Pattinson have pushed their apparent boredom with life to a new level in this picture which will likely help rocket it to the top of the box office,” said an online critic, Barman227. “It is Pattinson though that has really elevated his game. He has taken the boredom he showed in the first film and ratcheted it up dramatically, showing his depth and growth as an actor. There are times when if you didn’t know better you would think he was actually asleep. It’s really astounding work and really makes this reviewer excited to see what he will be able to do in the next two films.”

‘Eclipse’ will hit theatres in 2010, ‘Breaking Dawn’ in 2011. Pattinson has denied in interviews that his level of boredom was achieved through artificial means.robert pattinson

“When I saw the first film I thought exactly the same thing. I thought maybe Xanax or some kind of tranquilizer and that’s just what I expected when I took on this job. I was incredibly surprised to find that he came by that level of boredom completely naturally and in this he just pushed it up to a new level,” said ‘New Moon’ director Chris Weitz. “I honestly have never met a person that bored who somehow managed to remain conscious; it’s really an art unto itself. There were times when I would jump out of my director’s chair and almost ran over to him to prevent him from falling over but it never happened. That’s all Rob, it’s really genius.”robert pattinson

Pattinson first made his name appearing as Cedric Diggory in two of the Harry Potter films where he apparently perfected his patented level of boredom.

"Every great actor has his own particular thing. Jack Nicholson has his eccentricity, Morgan Freeman his wizened old man appeal, Keanu Reeves his ‘Whoa’. This is Pattinson’s thing and it couldn’t be more perfect. It is exactly what the film needs and in Stewart he has the perfect foil who just helps accentuate his boredom,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “The most compelling thing about Pattinson is that he is trying to forge a totally new way of performing. Most actors go for energy, or subtle characterization and so would never have considered this type of thing. Pattinson though has perfected it and will likely prove an inspiration for generations of actors to come.”

Pattinson reportedly did fall asleep on the set of ‘New Moon’ though he was not being filmed at the time.
