STILL NO ONE INTERESTED IN JARED LETO’S CAREER

Los Angeles, CA – Hollywood is a rough town. A town that chews up and spits out more dreams and more lives than perhaps any other profession. The streets of the city itself are testament to those broken dreams with run-down buildings and 
homeless living in shadow of the looming Hollywood sign. Even those who have had success are not immune to the ferocity of the town which dumps people just as quickly as it brought their dreams to life.
Jared Leto is a man who came to Hollywood with the same dreams that every young person who crosses the border has. Coupled with heartthrob good looks and success right from the start, Leto seemed destined to stardom. With appearances alongside major stars like Winona Ryder, Sean Penn, and George Clooney as well as appearing in the modern classic ‘Fight Club’ there seemed to nothing to stop his career. More than a decade after that appearance in that film though not much else has happened for Leto. Appearances, and even starring roles, in a variety of motion pictures as well as a career as a musician with ’30 Seconds to Mars’, have done little to create or maintain interest in Leto or in his career, even amongst people who actually know him.
“I love him and all and he seems to be happy but I really don’t have all that much interest in his career or anything like that. Frankly, most of the time I don’t even think of him. I get a phone call or we have a family get-together, or we play a gig and I’m like ‘Oh hey, Jared’ but for the most part he doesn’t even register in my head,” said brother Shannon who also plays in the band. “He’s a good guy and all but, I mean I don’t know. He’s just one of those guys that you kind of forget about almost as soon as they leave the room and I’ve known him my entire life. I can’t imagine what it’s like for other people.”
At 38, it isn’t believed that Leto will become any more memorable than he is already.
“For all kinds of reasons he really should have had ‘it’, whatever ‘it’ is but he just didn’t. This isn’t like say the career of Burt Reynolds or John Ritter who had it all going for them and then had it all just suddenly taken away, this is a guy who had the shot and it just never took off for him which is sad in many ways, but in many others is just inexplicable,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “He had roles in major projects, had good looks, could deliver his lines effectively but it just hasn’t happened and likely won’t at this point. Frankly in just doing this analysis I had to look at his IMDB page to even recall him to memory.”
Leto will probably be appearing in another movie sometime soon and may release another album with his band.
“I can’t pinpoint another film or music career that has been as underwhelming as Leto’s has been but I guess that’s for good reason. The trick with him is every time you see him you think, ‘Oh there’s a movie star’ and then your realize that it isn’t. It’s a very strange confluence of factors that have gone into making his career,” continue Temple. “You have to wonder if he’s happy. You have to wonder if he even remembers his films or himself after he steps away from the mirror. It’s strange that one person could be so forgettable and is really unprecedented in Hollywood history. His agent must have the memory of an elephant.”
