GLENN BECK AND VAN JONES SEEN LEAVING SAME NY HOTEL
March 2 2010
New York, NY – Love is a strange thing. It can be wondrous, magical, lyrical even. It can also tear your heart right from your chest, leaving it pulsing on the grounds as you stand staring at your life slipping away. At its core, love is really about one
fundamental thing. Breeding. We are, like every other species of life on this planet, born to be breeding machines. Sex is pleasurable in order to keep us coming back for more, to ensure that impregnation will occur, and the species will continue. Love, unique to humans, is an extension of that which has become much more than the sum of its parts.
That explanation doesn’t course explain love, and in fact might complicate it even further. Everyone of a certain age has no doubt experienced love and the follies that it brings. Everyone has lusted after the wrong person and ignored the better opportunity right at their fingertips. Everyone developed affections for someone whom they know is nothing but bad news. Romantics and poets have explained such actions way as ‘strange
bedfellows’ or ‘opposites attract’, while science has pointed to the innate desire to diversify DNA distribution. The truth is likely somewhere in between those theories, though we may never know for sure. One pair that is apparently seeking those answers however is another very unlikely pair; talk show host Glenn Beck and activist Van Jones who were spotted together at a New York City hotel on Tuesday.
According to eye witness reports both Beck and Jones were spotted leaving the Hudson hotel early Tuesday morning, separately, but had apparently shared a hotel room the night before. Normally such an occurrence would be simply salacious, but the pairing of the two also carries heavy political weight.
Jones was formerly a special advisor to President Obama and a frequent target of Beck’s. However the tide turned in recent days with Jones declaring his love for Beck while accepting the NAACP image award, and Beck reciprocating on his Fox News show. Now with the sighting of the duo in New York, one of the most unexpected love stories of the year appears to be in full swing.
“To my fellow countryman, Mr. Glenn Beck. I see you and I love you, brother. I love you and you cannot do anything about it. I love you and you cannot do anything about it,” Jones declared at the image awards.
“That is fantastic. Implication here is, is that I don’t love him… Sorry you misunderstood, Van. I mean, I’m a gospel-believing guy. You are my brother and I love you. I may disagree with you. I may not like what you do but I love you. That’s just the way it is,” Beck said in response, raising many an eyebrow not just amongst news hounds but also in Washington, where partisanship has reached critical heights.
“It’s a very interesting development to be sure, to see two people at the complete opposites of the political spectrum coming together like this. On one side you have a Marxist and on the other an anarchist but somewhere in the middle they meet, and apparently create something special,” said Scrape TV Media analyst Sarah Piper. “I mean chemistry is an odd thing and there is no real rationality to it at the best of times, but for people who have such outwards aggression towards one another it is very, very surprising. Of course, that tension should have always have been a sign of something much deeper. Where there’s passion, there’s anger, but quite often there is a great deal of something else as well. Luckily it appears they have now found that something else, hopefully they will make it work, those crazy kids.”
Calls to both men went unanswered, conspicuously at the exact same time.
