HEIDI MONTAG AND SPENCER PRATT CONSIDERING FUSION SURGERY
March 5 2010
Los Angeles, CA – Beauty, it has been said, is in the eye of the beholder. While that axiom is true for puppy dogs and prom dresses, in the real world it rarely holds weight. There is no place where that is more true than in Hollywood which has been

for years the standard for beauty. Here, beauty is not a debate or an opinion, it is a standard and those who don’t live by those terms are simply left on the outside. Beauty, here, has no opinion, it simply is.
In the never-ending quest to achieve that standard of beauty, and even push it forward, people in Los Angeles have gone to incredible extremes. Steroids, botox, and endless amounts of plastic surgery are standard here, a part of the welcome to neighbourhood package. While such quests for perfection are standard for anyone in this town, it is those who seek celebrity who pursue it with the most passion. Whether actors, television personalities, or luminaries that simply become famous for being famous, the fame seekers have pushed the pursuit of perfection to all new levels. The most recent people to push those limits are reality TV duo Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt who are now reportedly considering a dramatic surgery that would literally fuse their individual beauty into one.
“They are really into this surgery thing and when they heard about this new procedure they got really excited. It’s experimental and they know that, but the potential upside is what’s really tempting them. They have been talking to their doctor and they hope that in the next six months it will happen,” said a Speidi insider. “I don’t know too much about the details but basically it would fuse them together into one person, taking the best of both and throwing out the rest. They wouldn’t become some massive animal, just one normal sized and beautiful animal.”
Such fusions have previously only been attempted in fiction, such as the horror classic ‘Frankenstein’ by Mary Shelley.
“Plastic surgery certainly has come a long way in recent years, and not just in the
realm of beauty. We hear stories about people having hands and faces replaced and you realize just how far this particular realm has come. No longer is surgery simply about saving lives, it is about improving them,” said Scrape TV Medical analyst Dr. Phillip Waites. “I can only speculate as to how this particular surgery would work, but if it is successful it would be a major step forward in the field. This type of thing has been attempted before, particularly in the Soviet Union where they conducted operations where they would, say, remove the head of a dog and attach it to the body of another. For the most part those were successful but because of ethical concerns they were never attempted on human beings, at least until now it seems.”
It’s not clear which gender the duo would choose to become, if they are required to choose at all.
“This could also completely change the way we think about the ethics and morality issues revolving around gender. I doubt that anyone would have thought that Heidi and Spencer could have actually effect the way people think, but we could very well be on the precipice of something spectacular,” continued Waites. “It will certainly be interesting to see what comes out of this, both physically and culturally. Speidi may yet change the world.”
It’s not clear when the duo will undergo the surgery or how long recovery will take. People magazine has already secured the rights to the first photographs of the fused being.
