MEGAN FOX PASSES ON TRANSFORMERS 3 TO PURSUE LOFTIER ARTISTIC GOALS

from the mean streets of Detroit, the words of Eminem. Those words those, and the sentiments behind them, are not unique to Eminem and in fact have been spoken by poets across the world for centuries, all of them realizing that opportunities come once and you must take advantage of them when they present themselves.
Like all people that aspire to great things, Megan Fox no doubt understood the meaning behind those words as she washed Michael Bay’s car in anticipation of getting a much sought after role in the first ‘Transformers’ movie. With only a few minor roles in minor projects behind her getting a lead role in a summer blockbuster from a proven director had to have been a dream for the actress, who nailed the role and in the process became an instant celebrity. Now two blockbusters removed and with a more than formidable presence in Hollywood and in the hearts of fans across the world, Fox has decided to pass on the next instalment of the franchise in order to purse loftier artistic goals.
“Megan Fox will not be starring in Transformers 3. It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best. Megan feels that she has done all she can with this film series and the character she portrayed and did not want to potentially ruin the dramatic arc she has been able to create,” said a statement from Fox’s agency. “The experience over the last three years has been one of the best that anyone actor could hope for and she leaves knowing that she gave her all to the franchise and the fans. Megan simply feels that she most follow her heart and pursue different artistic achievements.”
Fox will next star as a hooker in the western ‘Jonah Hex’ which is widely expected to be a box office disaster.
“This is one of those very rare cases where a celebrity is willing to leave behind the promise of wealth and glory to pursue something deeper and more meaningful. Traditionally major players have dabbled in more artistic projects but have rarely flat out rejected big pay days from major franchises. Things like that just aren’t done in the real world and it’s incredible to see someone reject a sure thing in favour of something more satisfying,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “It takes real attitude and gumption to do something like that and frankly that isn’t something that most people, myself included, would have expected to see out of Megan Fox of all people. It’s really something special we are seeing here.”
On the opposite side, producers are stating that they simply decided to not renew Fox’s option, leaving her essentially fired from the project.
“I frankly don’t see any rational business or creative reason that would have seen her fired from the show so their statements ring a little hollow. We can’t ever be totally sure because this is Hollywood after all but seeing what she has done on screen I think there’s little doubt as to who is telling the truth,” continued Temple. “Now she’s only got a few projects lined up but this could very well have been a recent decision, a kind of epiphany and we will just have to wait and see what she has in store. I really cannot wait.”
‘Transformers 3’ is expected to be much like the last one, though with different actors obviously.
