RUMOUR: HARRISON FORD MAY APPEAR IN MOVIE PEOPLE WANT TO SEE

Hollywood, CA – There are few stars, perhaps no stars, who can claim the kind of success that Harrison Ford has enjoyed through his nearly forty years on the silver screen. With two of the biggest franchises in history, ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Indiana Jones’,
under his belt Ford is undoubtedly a legend whose star rivals every other actor who has stepped foot in Hollywood. That stardom was even more evident with the box office success of films like ‘The Fugitive’ and ‘Air Force One’ which succeeded because of Ford himself and his undeniable leading man status.
Of course things haven’t been perfect for Ford. As his career has progressed, his films have become less and less regarded and successful with many falling well below the public radar. With one exception, 2008’s fourth Indiana Jones film, Ford’s films have been more than a little underwhelming since the mid-1990’s, largely as a result of questionable choices by the actor which include rejecting a role in the Oscar winner ‘Traffic’. Of course, Ford himself has seemed largely oblivious to his declining star status as well as the tepid reaction from critics. Now however rumours suggest that the legend may appear in the new film from ‘Iron Man’ director Jon Favreau, ‘Cowboys and Aliens’ which is likely to draw a significant audience, something for which the star may be unprepared.
“Late last week before the holiday break I got a tip from a source that Harrison Ford was about to join a huge comic book movie to be directed by a director coming off a soon to be released huge comic book movie,” wrote movie website Latino Review. “I suspected Jon Favreau's Cowboys & Aliens. Couldn't get it confirmed through my normal channels due to the holiday until Jon Favreau himself posted the following on Twitter this evening...’Some very cool Cowboys & Aliens casting news coming soon...’”
The film, based on a popular graphic novel of the same name, will star Daniel Craig and Olivia Wilde and is due to be released in 2011. 
“This is a very interesting and bizarre rumour. Ford has spent the last decade and a
half running away from the things that have made him successful and well-loved so appearing in a film that will no doubt receive a wide release and whole lot of hype seems very out-of-character , meaning that this is either just a rumour, or something has happened to Ford, perhaps a stroke or something more dire,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “Of course it could also be that he’s starting to lose it a little bit and his people have lied to him about what the role is and who the people behind it are. He could think he’s starring in something totally uninteresting that will be poorly received by everyone but meanwhile he’s going to be in this big hit movie, totally unbeknownst to him.”
Ford’s last film, ‘Extraordinary Measures’, bombed earlier this year and co-starred Brendan Fraser.
“I’d imagine that this entire thing is a rumour. Ford is old but not yet old enough to be going senile so it’s likely that this whole thing is just talk. I’d imagine that we won’t start seeing him in good movies again until his mental faculties start erode significantly, by which time it may not matter anymore,” continued Temple. “If it is true then perhaps the script for the movie is really awful. That’s the only thing that makes any kind of sense here. He’s turned bad movies into hits before, though not much recently, but that likely isn’t the case here. If he indeed is in the movie a lot of the enthusiasm for the project just died.”
Ford’s next film ‘Morning Glory’ is expected to be awful.
Update: Ford will appear in the movie which is now expected to suck.
