BEN AFFLECK TO RUN FOR KING OF BOSTON

Boston, MA – Be Affleck has certainly had an interesting career. One could argue in fact that the progress of his career has been far more compelling than any story he has portrayed onscreen. For years he toiled in small parts before finally writing his 
own breakthrough role alongside buddy for life Matt Damon. That won him an Academy Award which he parlayed into a real movie career, appearing in big budget blockbusters and acclaimed independent films before eventually moving into directing and producing.
Despite that success Affleck has never strayed far from his roots. He has remained incredibly loyal to his hometown of Boston as evidenced by the locale of the two movies he’s directed. Though filmmakers like Woody Allen have made a career out of being loyal to their hometown, never has a Boston son proven his affection for his city with the level of zeal as Affleck. That dedication has in turn earned him the affection of the town, a town not normally known for its soft heart, which has fully embraced the Beantown boy with the same passion he has given them. Now with his new movie, the Boston-based ‘The Town’, receiving critical acclaim, Affleck is once again in the embrace of his home town and finally ready to run for King of the city.
“He’s been thinking about it for a long time. It’s really been something that he has dreamt of since he was a kid but I guess all kids dream of similar things. He honestly never thought it could happen but I think that’s just his humility speaking. I think in his heart he always knew this day would come,” said an Affleck insider. “In many ways he already is the King of Boston but the election and the crown would just formalize things. It would be a great topper to a great career that, frankly, is still very young. He is going to have a great run when the people inevitably vote for him.”
The city of Boston has never had a King and there is no law that allows for such a position, yet.
“Generally speaking Kingship is passed down generationally. Occasionally you see incidents where a King or Queen is usurped and 
that allows some other line to take over the crown but that is rare. I have never heard of an incident where a King was elected by the people. Of course I’ve never really investigated it either, though it does seem to run in conflict with the nature of monarchy,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “It is particularly funny considering the ethnic makeup of Boston. It prides itself on its Irish roots and the people of Ireland have routinely rejected the notion of a monarchy. Of course this is different because it is in the end Ben Affleck. Even the Irish melt under his gaze.”
It’s believed that the multi-talented Affleck is currently designing and manufacturing his own crown in anticipation of winning the election.
“Assuming this goes through, that all the legal hurdles are jumped, it’s going to be interesting to see how he rules. He seems like such a nice guy that it would be hard to imagine any kind of acrimony or hardship under his rule but you never know, I mean there is the old adage about the corrupting nature of power,” continued Kinsey. “Of course that largely depends on the law itself and how much authority it gives him, how much actual control he has over the people of Boston and the surrounding area. I have a feeling he will rule with grace and very shiny teeth.”
Affleck’s principle competition is likely to be former ‘New Kid on the Block’ Joey McIntyre who hails from Needham, Massachusetts.
