CHICAGO WOMAN READY TO DIE FOR TRANSFORMERS 3

Hammond, IN – Accidents happen, that is life, but often such events are mitigated by awareness and planning. However, by their nature, accidents still occur, they fall outside of planning and no matter how carefully people plan can cause tragedy. On a 
movie set careful planning is usually the order of the day. With hundreds of people working in close proximity to heavy equipment and frequent explosions and other stunts, careful planning is a necessity in order to prevent serious injury and even death.
Sometimes though, accidents do occur. Perhaps the most famous example is the tragedy that occurred on the set of the ‘Twilight Zone’ movie where a helicopter crash killed three actors, two of them children, and fundamentally altered the way Hollywood dealt with safety issues. That accident wasn’t the first death on a movie set and wouldn’t be the last, something that may be unavoidable no matter how many safety precautions are undertaken. That is evidenced by the most recent Hollywood accident on the Chicago set of ‘Transformers 3’ where an extra was critically injured and had to undergo emergency brain surgery. While accidents involving extras are rare, they do occur and in the case of major action films the risk is amplified. That is unfortunately the reality for this extra who is now in stable condition but who is also, according to producers, more than willing to die for the success of the latest in the blockbuster franchise.
“It was really scary, like really, really scary when we first realized what happened. Basically a tow cable snapped and hit the car the young lady was riding in, it smashed the windshield and hit her in the head. Everyone rushed to the scene. Luckily it appears she is going to be okay,” said a set insider. “We’re also really lucky because she is a big fan of the series and Shia LaBeouf in particular and even thought she didn’t want to undergo emergency brain surgery she was more than willing to make the sacrifice if necessary. Apparently she told doctors that she was willing to die if it would help make the movie a success.”
‘Transformers 3’ will be released July 1, 2011. The series has grossed over 1.5 billion dollars thus far.
“I have little doubt that the next movie is going to be a huge hit despite the general apathy towards the last movie. I mean it was a huge financial hit but the fan and critical response was mediocre at best and that could impact box office receipts. However the hype will be more than enough to bring in huge dollars,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “This kind of sacrifice is hardly necessary in that light, I mean the movie will do just fine even without all this blood being spilled. It’s a noble gesture to be sure and I’m sure the producers and studio will be thankful for that dedication but in the end it may not make a big difference to the final gross.”
Though stable, it’s not clear whether the woman will be healthy enough for the release of the movie.
“Much of the production will now be overshadowed by this accident which is really a shame. It appears that they have learned their lessons from the critical drubbing the last movie received and were bringing back some respectability to the franchise, losing Megan Fox notwithstanding. Now though everyone is going to be in a sombre mood. Hopefully this woman’s well wishes will perk the atmosphere on the set and help them make a better movie,” continued Temple. “If she dies though, which is always a risk with severe head trauma, then it will certainly cast a pall over the production. However, it could also prove inspiring and push them to do even better. Either way, it appears they have her blessing.”
The woman, 24-year-old Gabriela Cedillo, was given a signed picture of director Michael Bay, delivered by a assistant.
