GARY KURTZ NOT SEEN SINCE SPILLING STAR WARS SECRETS

Los Angeles, CA – To say that ‘Star Wars’ was cultural phenomenon as a gross understatement. True, the cultural impact of the series itself was massive, but the movie was much more than that. The success of the movies was nothing less than a 
paradigm shift in the movie industry, an event that opened the medium up to millions more and started an era of blockbuster films that continues to this day. The film series no doubt had a huge impact by itself, but the ancillary effects of the movies is the real legacy of the films.
The main man behind that shift is of course George Lucas whose imagination poured onto the screen, into film production, and into the bank accounts of movie studios. Though he had intended to simply make a small tale hearkening back to the serial films he enjoyed in his youth, Lucas completely changed the medium in which he was working and for his labours he has become wealthy. Few artists have ever been able to enjoy the type of success and financial freedom that Lucas has and few artists have been able to influence virtually every aspect of their chosen medium. That has made Lucas a giant in the industry and someone not to be trifled, something former producing partner Gary Kurtz seems to have forgotten given his sudden disappearance only days after criticizing the emperor.
“I’ve called a few times and haven’t been able to get through. It’s very unlike Gary, 
he’s usually around and even if he isn’t he gets back to you right away. Gary is a very reliable guy and that makes it very strange that I haven’t heard from him,” said a business partner. “I actually talked to him on the day the Los Angeles Times article came out and he stated that he was a little worried. He usually doesn’t talk like that, as you can tell in the article. He’s a confident guy and he states his case but Lucas gets him worried. I’m worried even talking about the whole thing.”
The business partner asked us not to disclose his name or location. Our attempts to contact Kurtz have also been unsuccessful.
“Star Wars was and is huge, it’s massive really and really has changed the industry. 
Many people point to the toys and the money they brought in, or the special effects and the change they brought about, or even legitimizing science fiction as a genre. Keep in mind that the biggest movie ever is a science fiction film, but the biggest thing it did was bring more people into the theatres,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “Gary Kurtz was a huge part of that. He was instrumental in getting those films off the ground and while Lucas is the brains behind the universe, it likely never would have been made without Kurtz and his input. Unfortunately that relationship soured.” 
Kurtz and Lucas parted ways over disagreements on the direction of the third film, ‘Return of the Jedi’.
“That interview was incredibly candid and while that’s impressive it’s also risky. Lucas has always been good at taking his jabs but for the most part that can be laughed off. Kurtz though is an insider with intimate knowledge of the films and of Lucas and I’m sure that would be seen as more of betrayal which could be why no one has heard from him,” continued Temple. “I mean it could be that his cell phone died or he’s just getting away from things after realizing that a lot of people would be asking questions, but there is no doubt that Lucas has the resources to do something and that is very well what could have happened.”
Kurtz’s wife and children have also not been heard from since last week.
