MICHAEL DOUGLAS PLASTICIZATION NEARING COMPLETION

July 22 2010

Hollywood, CA – Being from Hollywood royalty Michael Douglas had both the best and worst of opportunities. Unlike many people who come to Hollywood seeking fame and fortune he didn’t have to struggle to get seen by casting directors, or shop michael douglas kirk douglas
scripts all over town looking for an agent, those fundamentals were taken care of by virtue of his parentage. What he did struggle with, though, was living up to the Douglas name. His father was one of the most respected and beloved actors of his generation and remains to this day an icon, a hard act for anyone to follow.

The younger Douglas though took that challenge with aplomb and carved out a career much like his father. Instead of wilting in the face of that pressure, Michael Douglas became a respected producer and actor, winning Academy Awards, public acclaim, critical success, and the respect of his peers and made himself into another icon, arguably one even bigger than his father. For such success to strike a family once is rare, for it to hit twice is remarkable and may never again be seen in the city. For Michael though those concerns are not his own and as he starts to head into the twilight of his own life he appears ready to continue to build his own legacy long into the future, as evidenced by his recent plasticization which is reportedly nearly complete. michael douglas wall street

“It has been going very, very well and it will now only be a few more treatments before he is done. It has been a long and hard process for him and quite painful but he feels that it will be worth it, not only so that he can continue to act long into the future but also so that he can see his young children continue to grow,” said a Hollywood insider. “Some people have noted that it has changed his face a little and while in some lights that does appear to be the case I don’t think it’s dramatic enough to really notice on film, so long as the shots are carefully lit. He’s very happy about the whole thing.”

Douglas will next be seen reprising his Academy Award winning role in ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’. The process will likely be complete for the premiere of that film in September.michael douglas old

“Hollywood has always been a town that has prided itself on youth and maintaining that appearance of youth even past a time when that would seem impossible. Many people have been very successful at keeping that youthful appearance and a few have not. Those failures are obvious but the success is not, which is what makes them a success,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “For Douglas though it’s something different. He doesn’t appear to be trying to look older he just seems content to be his age and is apparently trying to preserve himself at that time and place. It’s an interesting step but he’s always been a smart guy and he’s probably aware that you can’t turn back the clock though perhaps you can arrest it.”

Douglas reportedly began the procedure in mid-2008 and has now had the plastic injected through 95 per cent of his body.michael douglas

“It will be interesting to see how long this allows him to go on. From what know of the process it won’t actually extend life but simply stop certain elements from aging, most notably the face and skin. Of course I would guess that he’s getting the top of the line procedure so he may get a more advanced technique,” continued Temple. “If that does happen and he is able to live forever than that would be nothing but great for Hollywood. Douglas has had a mixed reputation for the most part but when you look back at his great movies you realize how truly great they are. Just like his father he took this life and lived it and we are all better off for it. Long live plastic Michael Douglas.”

Douglas’ nearly complete face will be seen in ‘Haywire’ releasing in 2011.
