SNOOKI TO UNDERGO RANDOM TANNING TESTING AFTER ARREST

Seaside Heights, NJ – No one will ever accuse MTV of being too lofty. From the very beginning the network has appealed to the youth of America and done it proudly crass ways. That has led to incredible financial success for the network but has also, 
arguably, fundamentally altered American society itself. MTV was the epicentre for the music video in the 1980’s which helped launched new fashion trends and musical artists, a legacy which continues to influence popular culture even today.
MTV has of course moved far away from their roots and became largely a showcase for reality television with shows like ’Jackass’ and ‘The Real World’ now exerting the primary influence over American culture. However recently it is one show that has taken the spotlight away from all the other shows and probably become the most popular in the history of the network. That show of course is ‘Jersey Shore’ which documents the lives and antics of self-styled ‘Guidos and Guidettes’ of New Jersey. With millions of viewers, sponsorship contracts, and appearance fees the show has made bona fide celebrities of the stars with one, Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi arguably becoming the biggest 
name. Snooki though hasn’t been without her challenges as a recent arrest for disorderly conduct illustrates. Now comes word that as a part of a plea deal in relation to those charges Snooki has agreed to the unusual demand tone down her tanning.
“I can confirm that she has indeed been asked to reduce the amount of time she spends in the tanning salon and that she did agree, albeit reluctantly. It’s a very unusual request but when you listen to the judge’s reasoning in actually makes a little more sense,” said a court insider. “Basically the judge believed that tanning was a fundamental part of her lifestyle as was the drinking and partying that led to the arrest. She believed that by changing one crutch she could change others. The judge honestly believes that Snooki is headed down a dangerous path with all this tanning. And the drinking and sleeping around stuff as well.”
Snooki is considered a level four tanner, out of a possible five levels. She has been forced to wear an ankle bracelet that measure change in skin tone.
“I really don’t know what to say about this whole thing. I mean Jersey Shore is this weird ungainly thing that exists in a world all to itself. It doesn’t seem to relate to the world regular people live in at all and so any connection to normal life is transient at best,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “Frankly I’d rather talk about real celebrities or the floods in Pakistan or something that’s actually important but I guess this is what this story is about and this is what I’m paid to do so I guess this is what we will talk about.”
Temple is not paid very well for her contributions but is repaid in exposure.
“Snooki, I guess she is the star and she is quite tanned. She is Chilean though so she is naturally dark so it’s hard to tell exactly how much is tan and how much is Snooki. I don’t know, I really don’t know. I mean why are we even talking about this, I mean who really cares? It’s so stupid,” continued Temple. “Fine, I hope she abides by the judge’s order and gets her life back in order. I mean she has so much to contribute to the world that it would be a real shame if she went off the rails at such a young age. That sounds good doesn’t it? I’m going for smoke.”
Tracey Temple will be on vacation for the next few weeks in, ironically, Atlantic City right next to where the program is currently filming it’s third season.
