ALAN RICKMAN UNDER WATCH AS DIE HARD DIRECTOR RECEIVES PRISON SENTENCE

October 5 2010

Los Angeles, CA – Before the events of September 11th 2001 terrorism was widely considered more of a nuisance than a dire threat to the western world. Certainly there were tragic incidents that traumatized a great number of people, but the public psyche terrorist
was never scarred particularly deep by those incidents. After that fateful day however, terrorism took on an entirely new identity, some of it well earned some of it slightly irrational, that has forever changed the way in which we see terrorism and the way in which we deal with those events.

Because of that new, dire attitude towards terrorism and everything that could be perceived as such, many of the light hearted attitudes towards such acts and individuals have all but evaporated. Long gone are the innocent days when terrorists could be the nemesis of a superhero, or the principle villain in an action film. In the 1980’s however terrorists were perfectly acceptable foils, and that was never on display better than in the Bruce Willis classic ‘Die Hard’. Now regarded as one of the great action pieces in cinema history, ‘Die Hard’ featured a group of thieves masquerading as international terrorists bent on releasing their john mctiernan
comrades from prison, all to be stopped by a lone cop having a very bad day. Now with word that the director of that film, John McTiernan, has been sentenced to a prison term, police officials have begun watching Alan Rickman who played terrorist leader Hans Gruber.

“We don’t expect any difficulties or problems going forward. We cannot comment on specifics of the case but we will confirm that Mr. McTiernan was been released on bail while awaiting his appeal,” said a police spokesperson. “In situations like this we always keep aware of any person who could affect the conditions of bail. Ultimately the person on bail is responsible for their own actions but in high profile cases such as this the situation is a little different, particularly given the history between these two individuals.”

Rickman is currently in France preparing for his new film, though will be in Los Angeles for the premiere of the newest Harry Potter film. ‘Die Hard’ was based in L.A.

“Alan has been apprised of the situation involving Mr. McTiernan. He very much hans gruber die hard
enjoyed his experience working on the original ‘Die Hard’ film and the success of that part and film has afforded him quite a comfortable living. However he and Mr. McTiernan have not maintained a close relationship since that picture wrapped and he currently has no plans to try and extricate him from prison,” said a spokesperson for Rickman. “Mr. Rickman travels to Los Angeles quite frequently but he has no plans to visit Mr. McTiernan in prison, never mind recover him from his current situation. Alan is quite focussed on his career and finishing out the Harry Potter franchise. He bears no strong connection to those past relationships.”

Police are not believed to be believing the spokesperson and will reportedly be tracking Rickman through all his travels in the United States.alan rickman

“In many ways I long for the days when terrorism wasn’t such a bad thing. Now the whole thing is so much more serious that not only do we not see these things happen in movies, they hardly happen in real life,” said Scrape TV Terrorism analyst Doug Davids. “In the current environment anyone, absolutely anyone who might be seen as a threat has to be watched and that includes people who have played fictional terrorists. Rickman has the motivation and the experience and that makes him more than just a possible threat, but a likely one and they need to watch him. Thankfully they are.”

McTiernan has reportedly attempted to reach out to Alexander Godunov who played lead henchman Karl in the film. Godunov has been dead since 1995.
