CHARLIE SHEEN BREAKS OUT HIS SHELL IN LAS VEGAS
January 19 2011
Las Vegas, NV – Charlie Sheen has certainly had an up and down career. In the 1980’s he began life as just about everyone expected as the son of a respected dramatic actor, in dramatic roles, winning accolades and awards for his performances

in movies such as ‘Lucas’, ‘Wall Street’, and ‘Platoon’. For a time it appeared that the younger Sheen was going to follow in his father’s footsteps, but a small comedic role in the classic ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ would actually come to define his future progression as the actor turned steadily towards comedy.
Eventually comedy would become Sheen’s lifeblood, his full career. His successful run on ‘Two and Half Men’ has made him a television and comedy icon for an entire generation, a world totally removed from where he started. While older fans most certainly still remember those early days fondly, many more have embraced the modern version of Sheen and the laughs he brings. Through it all, through the professional and personal ups and downs, Sheen has remained a relatively quiet (by Hollywood standards) star, reluctant even, at least until recently when a bender in Las Vegas involving booze and porn stars showed him finally opening up and breaking out of his shell for the first time.
“Charlie was indeed in Vegas for a second weekend in a row. Everyone by now has heard of what happened last week and everyone was quite understandably shocked being who it was that was involved, but things have really changed for Charlie recently, he really feels like a new person and frankly we are all excited to see him come out of his shell like this,” said a Sheen family insider. “Obviously this world is very new to him and we want him to be careful. Given his age and his relatively little experience it would be very easy to go too far and we are worried, but at the same time we are happy he seems to have broken free and become a real man for the first time.”
Many members of his family had been concerned that Sheen was spending too much time alone after his separation from wife Brooke Mueller.
“We all want Charlie to be happy, obviously, and this kind of life – porn stars, booze, smashed hotel rooms – isn’t that happiness but it shows that he is willing to step outside his comfort zone and that means great things for the future. By taking these steps he is showing his individuality and that means good things for his long term mental health,” continued the insider. “We hope this goes well for Charlie, everyone does. Martin is watching it carefully and so is Emilio. They all want Charlie to be happy and they are thrilled that he seems to finally be breaking free of all the inhibitions that have been restricting him all these years. Hopefully he keeps it up, but safely.”
Charlie’s has other siblings whose opinions are not really relevant.
“I’ve been watching Charlie Sheen for years, almost since he started and he’s always been fun. I have to admit that I am not the biggest fan of the TV show but I am very glad for his success with it. I’ve tried watching it a few times but it just isn’t for me, but that’s okay,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “It’s great to see him successful and it’s great that he’s finally using that success to benefit himself. I mean you have to do for others but occasionally you also have to do for yourself. Finally Charlie Sheen is doing that, and that’s a great thing.”
It’s not clear if Sheen has Vegas plans for next weekend.
