CHARLIE SHEEN SELF-MEDICATING AFTER HERNIA SCARE

Los Angeles, CA – ‘Two and Half Men’ star Charlie Sheen is now resting comfortably at home after a medical scare landed him in hospital Thursday morning. Early reports indicate that the star suffered an attack from his hiatal hernia after a long night 
celebrating a break in his hectic work schedule. While no details of his treatment have been made public, it’s believed that Sheen is engaging rest and limited levels of self-medication before returning to work next week.
The latest health scare comes a little over a week since Sheen’s much publicized early birthday party in Las Vegas and a small ear infection, leading many to believe that the popular actor may suffering from growing health problems as he starts to fall well out of middle age, calling into question how much longer he will be able to portray the loutish young man that has made him famous. While it is not yet clear if Sheen’s hernia issue will be an ongoing issue, it has given pause to many in the industry who are starting to show concern that Sheen’s hectic work pace that has helped make him and others millions of dollars, may not be sustainable over the long term, potentially threatening any future continuation of his show beyond the two years still left on his contract.
“We are all very concerned about Charlie. This hospitalization is just the latest and most notable concern, but the concerns are very much omnipresent throughout the industry. People are really concerned that he has been working too hard and not giving himself a chance to relax and that could wear him very thin, already has,” said a Hollywood insider. “People have been noting how thin and gaunt he has been looking over the last little while and that has put a lot of them on notice. Everyone is happy that he has this success even if they aren’t fans of the show but don’t want to see him press himself too hard and potentially undo everything he has worked so hard to accomplish.”
Sheen was considered one of the major young actors of the 1980’s before falling on hard times through most of the 90’s.
“Hopefully he is relaxing. This last year has been a tough one for him with contract negotiations and the separation from his wife. I think everyone really hopes that he is starting to take it easy, learning to relax and even let loose a little bit. I think everyone wants to see Charlie happy,” continued the insider. “Hopefully he takes this health scare to heart and just calms down a little bit, maybe throw a party for himself. It’s good to hear that he is self medicating a little bit, I just hope he doesn’t overdo it. 
When you have been sheltered for so long sometimes it’s hard to not overindulge.”
Sheen is expected to return to work on Tuesday.
“Who knows what the future holds for Sheen. I don’t think anyone in the early days of his career would have expected that it would have gone this way but this is the way it has gone. He only has another year or so on his contract but with the amount of money the show makes for everyone I’m sure everyone would like to see it go on further. Hopefully Sheen doesn’t tax himself too much,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “He should just take this time to relax and have a little bit of fun, He’s earned it after all this time. Feel better Charlie.”
A number of lady friends have reportedly been seen visiting Sheen since his release.
