NEW SUPERMAN ACTOR ALREADY PREPARED TO MOVE ON AFTER ACCEPTING ROLE

January 31 2011

Hollywood, CA – There has never been, and likely never will be, another comic superhero as iconic or enduringly popular as Superman. No heroes, not Wolverine and not Batman, have ever been able to bridge the gaps between generations and span superman
so many decades as Superman. He is, in essence, the perfect hero; dignified, virtually invulnerable, and unabashedly moral. His status and stature are almost wholly dependent on those attributes, virtues which we all aspire to possess but few are ever able to hold onto for an extended period of time.

In many ways, Superman, even though he is an alien, is the embodiment of everything we would wish to be, which is what makes him such and enduring icon and such a beloved figure the world over. Of course as humans we are still deeply flawed, nowhere near the dream of Superman and as such many of our living dreams do not revolve around the virtues of the Man of Steel but rather much darker heroes such as Batman. Still, the hope persists that one day we may finally be worthy of the dream of Superman and so he remains in our dreams. One place where dreams do come true is of course in movie theatres, a place in which that great hero has had mixed results. Two successful movies more than three decades ago have left a void, but now the great hero returns but already the man portraying him is dreaming of a life beyond the blue tights.christopher reeve superman

“Henry is thrilled to be a part of this franchise and with the people involved in the project. It has been a long and hard road to the red cape but now he will finally be able to don it and he is more than excited,” said a spokesperson for Henry Cavill who has been chosen as the titular hero in the upcoming film. “It’s an amazing opportunity but he doesn’t want to get too carried away with it. Typecasting is a major concern, but the Superman curse is foremost on his mind.”

The ‘Superman Curse’ is a theory that a number of people involved with the character have suffered misfortunes.

“Obviously George Reeves, Marlon Brando, Margot Kidder, and Christopher Reeve all suffered a great deal of problems after being brandon routh
involved with the movies and that is certainly frightening for Cavill. Worse though is the idea that he could end up like Brandon Routh. Henry has bigger dreams than that frankly,” continued the spokesperson. “Still, this is a great chance and a great break and he will do what he can to ensure that the portrayal of Superman is the best one yet. Hopefully that doesn’t mean he’ll fall on his head eventually but that is up to the fates to decide.”

The curse has also extended to some of the creative talent behind the character, including creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, as well as the myriad of video games based on the character.horseback riding

“More than likely these events, which are really disparate in terms of what happened, are merely coincidence. All of the people involved with these movies have lived their lives beyond Superman and when you live your life, things happen to you. True people don’t normally fall off horses and break their necks or appear as gay porn stars alongside Seth Rogen but it still more than likely coincidence,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “The real challenge for Cavill is staying awake during the screenings. If he can focus on that, make that work, I think everything else will work out alright. I know that will be my biggest challenge of course I don’t ride horses.”

The new Superman movie is due to appear in theatres in 2012, provided there are no unforeseen circumstances.
