O.J. SIMPSON TO BE QUESTIONED AFTER LESLIE NIELSEN DIES IN HOSPITAL

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Growing up in small towns throughout Canada it would have been reasonable for someone like Leslie Nielsen to have never imagined the life that he ended up living. As the son of an RCMP officer, Nielsen moved from town to town, 
barely living in one place long enough to establish strong friendships never mind the kind of personal identity and connections that would have led him to success in Tinsel Town. Somehow, though Nielsen did just that.
Perhaps he drew inspiration from his uncle, Hollywood legend Jean Hersholt, or perhaps the chaos of his early life provided him with dreams of a world beyond his own. Whatever it was that sparked that dream in Nielsen, it grew bright and burned hot for a very long time. Like most Hollywood careers things didn’t start immediately – he was thirty in his first big break, ‘Forbidden Planet’ – but he stuck with it. After dozens of film roles and hundreds of television appearances, Nielsen finally broke through at the tender age of 54 playing the no-nonsense doctor in ‘Airplane!’ From that point on it was all uphill for the Canadian kid who defied all odds and became a star. Now though that amazing life 
has ended at the age of 84 after succumbing to complications of pneumonia at a hospital in Florida. Thus far, his demise appears natural yet police are still seeking his ‘Naked Gun’ co-star O.J. Simpson for questioning in relation to the death.
“We are saddened by the passing of beloved actor Leslie Nielsen, probably best remembered as Lt Frank Drebin in The Naked Gun series of pictures, but who enjoyed a more than 60-year career in motion pictures and television,” said Nielsen’s family in a statement. “Leslie died Sunday at a hospital near his home in Ft. Lauderdale where he was being treated for pneumonia. With his friends and his wife by his side, he just fell asleep and passed away.”
Nielsen had been hospitalized for a few days previous to his death, It’s believed he knew exactly where he was.
“This case does appear to be a case of death by natural causes but we still have a
responsibility to investigate all possible avenues. While we certainly don’t know if any other parties were involved in this incident, a thorough investigation will definitively rule out any third party involvement in the death of Mr. Nielsen,” said a spokesperson for the Fort Lauderdale police. “While we are investigating all possible avenues, we do understand that representatives for Mr. O.J. Simpson frequent the area and were here within the last week. They have not been reported in the last few days, but we would still like to have a chat with him so that we can rule him out of any possible involvement in this case. That is the only reason we want to speak with him, to rule him out.”
Simpson is currently serving a 33-year prison sentence in Nevada for a 2001 robbery and kidnapping case. He starred with Nielsen in all three instalments of the ‘Naked Gun’ series.
“I would like to state very clearly that my client had no involvement in the death or illness of Leslie Nielsen. Mr. Simpson has always had the utmost respect for Mr. Nielsen and even considered him a father figure in many ways,” said a spokesperson for the former football star. “O.J. loved Leslie like a family member and like them, would have nothing to do with his death. He is mourning the loss of his dear friend and his sympathies go out to Mr. Nielsen’s family and friends.”
A mysterious man named ‘Bill’ was reportedly seen leaving the Lovelock Correctional Center only minutes after the death of Nielsen. ‘Bill’ is also currently being sought for questioning.
