RACHAEL LEIGH COOK STILL ALIVE, WORKING

Hollywood, CA – Success is no guarantee of success anywhere, but especially in Hollywood. Fortunes rise and fall in Tinsel Town, dreams burn out faster than the crack pipes that line the streets of the city. Past and current successes are in no way 
guarantees of future success in any field of life, but in Hollywood those peaks, valleys are played out in public, prone to the criticism, and often amusement of the public that at one time adored the individual.
Rachael Leigh Cook was one of those individuals who suffered such a ride. As a young actress in the late 1990’s Cook seemed destined for stardom. With s series of high profile roles and a great public presence, the world seemed at her fingertips for a little while. Things changed though, somewhere along the way. There was no great scandal and no disastrous failure of a film or television project for Cook. She just seemed to fade away, a memory for those of a certain age who watched her short-lived success. For a long time few people seemed to even notice that she had disappeared, Hollywood being what it is other young starlets quickly filled the shallow void that she had left, but it now appears that Cook has not totally vanished and is not only alive, but also been working all this time.
“It’s been a good career really. I have no complaints. I’ve enjoyed all the projects, well most of the projects, that I’ve worked on and am really happy to have been able to make a living doing what I want. That’s a tough thing for most people to do and so I really don’t have anything to complain about, said Cook in an exclusive interview. “I’m proud of everything I’ve done. I’ve been really lucky in being able to choose the roles that I’ve wanted to do more or less from the beginning. I’m also really happy that the roles have continued to roll in, something that really doesn’t happen for many child stars.”
Cook made her acting debut in ‘The Baby-Sitters Club’ which was kind of a big deal in the 1990’s.
“Yeah, a lot of the movies I’ve been in recently aren’t as big or as popular as some of the other things I have done but you can’t expect to have success every single time. That’s the case for 
regular people and it’s the case for acting people. Still, I’ve been very lucky and I hope to continue being lucky in the future,” continued Cook. “I’ve got all these projects lined up and every one of them is special in their own way. This business has given me a great life and I am so thankful that I’ve been able to not only have a career but to also do it with such great parts with such great people. I hope that at least will continue until I’m an old woman.”
Cook will next appear in ‘Vampire’ alongside Kevin Zegers and Trevor Morgan.
“It’s really nice that Cook has been able to continue working. Really nice actually, she seems like a pleasant person that people like to work with. No one has had a ill word to say about her as far as I have heard and that means a lot, kind of I guess,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “I mean at her height I think it’s unlikely that she would have dreamt of this career path, but that’s the way life works I guess. At least she’s happy and healthy and alive even if she’s kind of put of the spotlight. Well, she’s totally out of the spotlight but that’s okay so long as she’s happy.”
Cook will next take a trip to Mexico with her husband.
