FIRED FROM TV SHOW, CHARLIE SHEEN CONSIDERING VARIETY SHOW WITH GADDAFI
March 8 2011
Los Angeles, CA – Well, it’s official. After weeks of increasingly bizarre behaviour and high profile criticisms of everyone involved with his show, Charlie Sheen has been fired from ‘Two and Half Men’ for a series of offences. In response, Sheen has taken his
fight to another level, waving a machete atop an L.A. building and proclaiming himself free from the trolls on his webcast, vowing to sue the producers and studio to try and recover some of the money he feels he is still owed.
While any potential lawsuit will be a long and protracted issue, especially considering Sheen’s accelerating meltdown, more immediate needs are apparently on Sheen’s mind. His recent foray into the web world in an effort to bring in some much needed cash, particularly now, is just one move Sheen is apparently making to stabilize his income flow. Now though comes word that the actor may in fact be formulating a new and potentially more controversial plan involving another one of the more eccentric people in the world who is also on the verge of losing his job, Muammar Gaddafi. While details are scant at this point it appears that representatives from Sheen’s camp have been in contact with members of the Libyan government to try and secure a long term deal for as yet unspecified projects.
“They were really receptive, surprisingly so. Charlie asked his people to contact the government just to kind of feel out the situation but they came back with a really enthusiastic response and both sides are now knee deep in negotiations. Obviously things are a little transient at this time and we have no definite plans, but the talks are happening,” said a Sheen insider. “Both sides want things to remain fluid, obviously there is a lot going on for both groups, and they need to be able to react to new situations but ultimately they are both looking for the same thing and are both in a very similar position.”
It’s not clear where Sheen’s personal finances stand, but Gaddafi has had billions of dollars in assets seized since the start of the conflict in that country.
“Charlie doesn’t really go in for all this political stuff. He knows Gaddafi has been a bad guy, or at least seen as a bad guy, for a lot of years but that political stuff is his father not him. He’s looking to be the best entertainer he can be and not be restricted by politics,” continued the insider. “Charlie really sees a kinship with Gaddafi, feeling they are both up against it but still fighting and both winning. He sees Gaddafi as a kind of kindred spirit in a number of ways, possessing some of the same tiger blood he has and he thinks it could be a really great working relationship, indictments from the ICC not withstanding.”
The International Criminal Court is investigating possible action against Gaddafi. Thus far they have no interest in Sheen.
“It’s a funny time in the world with all this rebellion. Africa, Wisconsin, and Hollywood would seem on the surface to have no real connection but here we are, riots and
rebellion across the board. Frankly, I think it’s a pipe dream to have Gaddafi and Sheen together. Aside from the fact that they both appear on the verge of imploding, I can’t really see what either of them would bring to the table,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “Sheen hasn’t really been good for a long time and Gaddafi, while certainly entertaining, has never really been a performer. I suppose they could go on USTREAM and put on some kind of vaudevillian show but that hasn’t really proven to be a really big money maker, at least not at the level these guys are used to working for. Frankly, I don’t think we’ll be seeing the Muammar and Charlie show anytime soon but it’s a nice dream. Keep in mind too that Gaddafi still has a job.”
Sheen is reportedly staking out locations in The Hague just in case a deal is reached.
