LINDSAY LOHAN AND MEL GIBSON BEING SOUGHT FOR CELEBRITY VERSION OF JUDGE JUDY
March 16 2011
Los Angeles, CA – Celebrities behave badly. Just like normal people, celebrities do bad things on occasion, they make mistakes, and they get in trouble for those things. As accomplished and as famous as they may be, celebrities in any realm are still in the

end only different from the average person because of money and fame. The indiscretions of celebrities are often no more or less than that of average people, only more prominent.
Regardless of that basic truth, however, the sensation of celebrity crimes and misdemeanours is frequently entertaining and garners incredible amounts of attention, oftentimes more attention than the work that made them famous in the first place. At no time is the world devoid of such events with a handful of famous people in trouble at any given time, just like now. With half a dozen or more famous cases currently taking up the celebrity sphere blogs and gossip hounds are consumed by court cases, dominating for perhaps the first time even the love lives of the rich and famous. That attention hasn’t just drawn the attention of fans but also business and now, in a kind of full circle arrangement, at least on TV show, Judge Judy, which is seeking both Lindsay Lohan and Mel Gibson for the first episode.
“We are in very early negotiations at this stage but it is a very exciting concept and we are eager to move forward. It really seems to us to be the perfect synergy of products considering that these cases are already going forward, it only makes sense to have them on the show,” said an insider for Big Ticket Entertainment which produces the show. “We also feel that this, alongside our brand and Judge Judy’s incredible wit, will provide these celebrities with a platform on which to rebuild their reputations and ingratiate themselves with the public once again. We hope that this will become the new standard for celebrity jurisprudence.”
‘Judge Judy’ has been on the air since 1996 and become more successful than even the venerable ‘The People’s Court’ which started the reality courtroom genre.
“We are going for the big fish first for obvious reasons. We are not looking to exploit these celebrities but want to genuinely resolve their issues in a court of law, well at least our version of a court of law. While we are not able to resolve actual criminal cases, these celebrities are involved in civil issues, which is right up our alley,” continued the insider. “There are a great number of celebrities who we have on our wish list but we feel that both Lindsay and Mel would be the perfect cases to start things off with. If this is successful we would be more than open to continuing the project and brining more and more cases in front of Judge Judy.”
Producers have also approached Charlie Sheen about appearing, but that went about as well as to be expected.
“In many ways this is the perfect collision of forces. ‘Judge Judy’ has millions of viewers

and a situation like this, a set up like this, would provide the celebrities with an opportunity to voice their points of view rather than have them filtered through reporters, and they would have their cases resolved in fifteen minutes so everyone wins,” said Scrape TV Legal analyst Gabe Hawthorne. “If this works, and frankly I don’t see any reason why it won’t, I would imagine we will see a number of celebrities going this route. Hopefully ‘The People’s Court’ can snag a few of these celebrities, that’ll get them back on the map.”
Camille Grammer, who just resolved a divorce from husband Kelsey, is reportedly trying to cause problems in an effort to get on the show.
