MICHAEL DOUGLAS FINALLY TURNS THE TABLES ON WIFE CATHERINE ZETA-JONES

Hartford, CT – There is one disease above all others which evokes a kind of elemental reaction in human beings, a profound sense of doom. Even the name of the disease spoken independent of personal affliction creates a primordial response in most 
people, making the disease perhaps the most dreaded killer in our millions of years on the planet. That disease is of course cancer, the big C, which for centuries has been stalking and beating even the best of us.
In recent years, medical science has made dramatic steps forward in treating cancer, even outright defeating certain versions of the disease but still cancer kills millions of people every year, something that keeps it very much prominent on the minds of most people. Unlike many other deadly disease, cancer does not discriminate and impacts the weak and the strong, the poor and rich all the same. That’s a reality that became very apparent to one of the most venerable of Hollywood royalty in recent years after Michael Douglas waged a public, and successful, battle with throat cancer. Now only months after being declared free of the disease, his wife has been hospitalized with Bipolar disorder, something being attributed to her hard year taking care of her husband. While such a fate may seem a kind of piling on for the family, for Douglas his wife’s illness is a kind of sweet redemption after just barely getting out of 2010 alive.
“Obviously this is a very hard time for the Douglas family but they are all staying strong. Love can get you though a lot of things and that is carrying them through this period, said a spokesperson for the family. “Everyone is very happy to have all the well wishes from so many friends and fans and they want everyone to know that they are going to fit this battle just like they have all others. And like those battles, they will win.”
Zeta-Jones was admitted to a Connecticut hospital in order to treat her illness.
“Obviously Michael loves her and is going to stand by her no matter what she needs 
but he sees this as a kind of great opportunity. For all those months she was babying him, not letting him eat what he wanted or go out when he wanted and this is his opportunity to get back at her. By having her locked away for a little while she is going to get a little taste of her own medicine,” said an insider. “I mean she treated him like that and now she is essentially claiming that she is the victim. He was the aggrieved party in all of this, he was the one that was sick, and now she’s trying to take that away from him, trying to make it about herself which is what she’s always done. She is really ill though and that gives Michael a kind of satisfaction, knowing he has something on her now.”
Douglas is currently taking care of the couple’s two children, Dylan and Carys all by himself.
“Having dealt with loved ones who have suffered both cancer and mental illness I can certainly understand both sides of this. It is a hard thing dealing with the serious illnesses of loved ones and to have them hit one right after the other, well that’s even more of a challenge,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “Really I think this is a time when the couple should be focussed in getting better and not thinking of things like revenge or redemption. Those aren’t things most people concentrate on in these types of situations but then again celebrities really are a little different than the rest of us. If this is important to him I hope he gets what he wants. After such a tough year he deserves it.”
Douglas will next take his path of vengeance to Liberace in a new film role. The pair reportedly had serious issues in the late 1970’s which were never resolved.
