WITH TIME ON HIS HANDS JON CRYER TAKES TRIP TO VEGAS

Las Vegas, NV – To most television observers the success of ‘Two and Half Men’ is indicative of nothing less that the decline of western civilization. The immensely popular show has been derided as immature, silly, brain dead, and perhaps worst of 
all boring yet it has remained incredibly popular, become in fact one of the most popular sitcoms ever aired competing with programs such as ‘All in the Family’ and Seinfeld’ in the pantheon of popularity.
That popularity has of course made a lot of money for a lot of people and, in a strange turn of events, taken two fallen stars from the 1980’s and made them more popular than they ever were when they produced works that garnered respect. While some would point to that as evidence of appealing to the lowest common denominator, or perhaps the erosion of tastes of the public, it’s more likely that the reality is far less extreme. More than likely the popularity of the show is a result of people simply enjoying mindless entertainment, no different than other past hit shows such as ‘McHale’s Navy’ or ‘Married with Children’. Whether good or bad, the people involved
have become stars and now, in the midst of a well-earned break, one of them, Jon Cryer, has apparently jumped on a plane to Vegas to spend some of his wealth on the town’s indulgences.
“Jon hopped a plane pretty much as soon as heard the show was going on hiatus and hasn’t looked back. I think he even forget about picking up his kids from school. From what I heard he got a text from his agent stating that the show was on hiatus and just ran for the airport, didn’t even pack clothes,” said a Hollywood insider. “Jon really likes Vegas and will often hop over for a weekend every now and then but now that he’s free from work for a little while he plans on staying a little longer.”
Cryer has been one of the more notorious Vegas party boys since the early 1990’s.
“The people behind the show have been really protective of Cryer. Obviously he isn’t as important to the success of the show as Charlie Sheen but they do feel he is an integral part of the cast and they don’t want to see him do anything to hurt himself or go off the deep end, again. They were hesitant to start this hiatus for exactly that reason,” continued the insider. “Both Sheen and Cryer have another year and a bit on their contracts and that will likely be the end of the show, but that means about 250 million dollars for the people behind the scenes and that is a lot of cash to risk on the hope that Cryer will behave himself. This sudden trip to Vegas is very clear evidence that his party days certainly are not behind him.”
Cryer first rose to fame as a tertiary member of the ‘Brat Pack’ in the 1980’s. Sheen’s brother Emilio Estevez was a charter members of that group.
“Hopefully everything turns out alright, at least for Cryer and all the people involved with the show. I suppose he could be replaced, perhaps with another actor or even a potted plant or a nice pair of French doors but the dynamic seems to work and there is no reason to mess with that if it’s not necessary,” said Scrape TV Entertainment analyst Tracey Temple. “I mean I don’t think anything of great cultural ort social value will have been lost if Cryer cokes out with a bunch of strippers or falls down a flight of stairs and breaks his neck in a drunken stupor but there are a lot of people who work on these shows and they need to support their families and so it would be a shame if they lost their gig because he went a little crazy in Vegas. Hopefully this hiatus doesn’t last long and if it does, well hopefully Cryer can control himself or possibly even go for help. He is a family man after all.”
Cryer has not been heard from since landing n Vegas.
