ZSA ZSA GABOR LOOKING TO BECOME THE WORLD’S OLDEST MOTHER
April 19 2011
Santa Barbara, CA – Previous to the last hundred years or so fertility was one of the most pressing issues in the human experience. Throughout the twentieth century, advances in pre and post natal care, alongside improving health amongst the general
population, dramatically changed the nature of fertility, improving the number of live births and the long term survival of infants from playing the odds to nearly a sure thing in most of the world.
Those advances have allowed human beings to spread even more widely across the globe and changed our attitudes towards birth, life, and death. No matter how bloated ankles become or how many varicose veins appear in one’s legs, pregnancy and child birth are dramatically easier and safer now than they have ever been, as close to automatic as possible. That ease has in turn led to a number of experiments in fertility and allowed births much later in life, at ages beyond which many people didn’t even live in years past. While still uncommon, very late in life pregnancies have become more and more frequent in recent years due to that experimentation and now a famous name is apparently ready to blast through that ceiling just as she did sixty years ago on the silver screen. Zsa Zsa Gabor, 94, is finally ready to become a mother.
“We are looking, looking through all these stacks and stack of papers. I know the documents are here somewhere and I plan to find them. This is a dream for both of us and something I very much want to make happen not really for myself, but for Zsa
Zsa. She has earned this,” said Gabor’s husband Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt. “I will find her eggs and I will fertilize them and we will have a child. As you know my lovely and charming wife has never had a child but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t wished for one. Now we can finally achieve that dream, now that she is finally ready.”
Gabor reportedly had eggs frozen in the 1960’s which Anhalt is currently trying to find.
“It has been a long time coming and I am so glad that we are finally at this stage. Zsa Zsa is a beautiful woman inside and out and she would make the most wonderful of mothers, she will make the most wonderful of mothers. She is totally incomparable and is as excited as I am,” continued Anhalt. “When this baby comes it will be loved and raised very well. Zsa Zsa will be the greatest mother on the planet and I am so excited to see her holding her baby for the first time. This is something she has longed for for a number of years and now I am finally able to give her a gift, the greatest gift one person could ever give to another.”
Because of her advanced age and numerous medical issues, the baby will likely be carried by a surrogate.
“As far as I know this will make Zsa Zsa the oldest mother on the planet. By the time the baby is born she will be 95 which is far and away the oldest young mother ever. It’s a bit of a cheat if she uses a surrogate but that is so common now that it almost isn’t worth mentioning,” said Scrape TV Health analyst Rebecca Phelps. “It’s been a long time coming for Zsa Zsa and I’m sure this is a very happy time for her. Hopefully she will live long enough to see her little one help change her diaper, adjust her feeding tube, or even call 911 when she has a medical crisis. That would be a wonderful thing, very touching indeed in a cynical world.”
Gabor is reportedly taking mothering classes in her Santa Barbara home.
