CHINA BUILDING MASSIVE AIRCRAFT CARRIER FOR TRAINING AND FLOWER DELIVERY

July 29 2011

Beijing, China – For as long as nations have fought one another, dominance of the sea has always been the tipping point. All nations who have become great did so with control over seaways. Whether they used sea-faring vessels to ferry troops and french naval fleet
materials to distant shores or to protect seaports from aggressors, control of the sea has always made nations great. While air power has taken some of the lustre away from the power of the sea, the great oceans of the world continue to hold a lot of sway.

For all its advances, all its airpower, and all its advanced weaponry the United States still relies heavily on the Navy. Like most thing military, the U.S. dominates the seas with more than half of the formidable sea vessels on the planet including 12 of the 21 aircraft carriers on the planet. The focus the U.S. puts on naval vessels proves better than anything that sea power is still important in the modern world. Perhaps not as singularly valuable as it once was, but still an essential component of any major armed force. At first glance, that continued power would seem to be a sensible reason for China to go about pursuing her own advances in naval power including a new aircraft carrier currently under construction. That logic though would be flawed because, at least according to Chinese officials, the massive vessel is being designed for peaceful purposes, to train, to do research, and to deliver flowers wherever they are needed in the world.aircraft carrier nimitz

“Building an aircraft carrier is extremely complex and at present we are using a scrapped aircraft carrier platform to carry out refurbishment for the purposes of technological research, experiments and training,” said Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Geng Yansheng. “To construct and use a carrier requires the integration of various types of weaponry, and requires synergy in every area. This will be a long and slow process.”

Amongst the complex weaponry being installed on the vessel is a projectile launcher capable of delivering flowery payloads over thousands of kilometres.

“There are only a handful of countries in the world that have aircraft carriers, nine to be exact, and so anytime one comes along it’s going to draw attention. Most people assume that these vessels are common, that there are hundreds on the seas, but they are expensive to build, refurbish, and maintain and so only countries with a real need actually employ them,” said Scrape TV Military analyst Michael Kent. “They are very effective military tools and there is a reason that the United States puts so much into them. Being able to deploy aircraft and personnel rapidly is the core value of any sea vessel and that is exactly what aircraft carriers are designed to do. China, as they become more and more powerful, are going to learn exactly how valuable something like a carrier can be.”

The Chinese vessel is a refurbished ship purchased from the Ukraine in 1998.roses

“One would think with the massive expenditure in money and men that is required to put together an aircraft carrier and maintain it that they would have other intentions than research and humanitarian concerns like flower delivery but you never know. Part of winning to world has to involve influencing the hearts and minds of the people and raining down flower petals on them will certainly go a long way towards doing that. Everyone likes flowers,” continued Kent. “I would imagine that they have already equipped their combat aircraft for flower deployment as well so that when the carrier is ready they will be able to deploy and bring happiness throughout the world.”

China has apparently also been equipping their other vessels, destroyers and frigates, with similar flower deployment capabilities.
