GADDAFI COMPLAINING SMUGGLERS STEALING HIS GUNS, MISSILES

September 4 2011

Tripoli, Libya – They may not have used them all that effectively, but that doesn’t mean that the Gaddafi government didn’t have a huge cache of weapons at the ready to deal with rebel forces. Now those massive stores of weapons are being uncovered, not by rebels or NATO but by smugglers who are making away with them.weapons cache

Amongst the many weapons up for grabs are hundreds of small arms, and portable heat-seeking missiles, which were once the pride of Gaddafi’s collection. Now many fear that the weapons may find their way into the hands of terrorists or others with less than noble intents, a great concern for the west and yet another heartbreak for Colonel Gaddafi.

“The risk of seeing weapons reaching members of terrorist organisations is always a concern. We know from experience that extremists and terrorists can take advantage of instability and lawlessness,” NATO said in a statement. “We should do our utmost to avoid that situation. We expect all sides to maintain accountability of weapons.”

It is believed that a large number of weapons have already gone missing with their whereabouts unknown.heat seeking missiles

“This is very upsetting for us, but in particular to the Colonel. He has spent many years and a great deal of effort to build up these supplies and to have them taken away like this, by criminals, is very unsettling and upsetting. He is not at all happy about these events, not at all,” said a Gaddafi insider. “He has greater concerns of course but this is just one more hit for him. He took a great deal of pride in the weapons he was able to accumulate, especially doing despite the protests of the western pigs who have hated him for so long. Now those weapons are being distributed to who knows who and that is not pleasant. He wants these weapons secured as much as the west. He would rather the people of Libya receive these missiles rather than foreigners.”

It’s believed that Gaddafi’s personal collection of heat-seeking missiles went with him when he went into hiding.

“Proliferation is a major concern for western powers, it has to be, and the concerns of gaddafi stunned
the Gaddafi regime are really secondary in light of that. That said, this may be the one time when the interests of Gaddafi and NATO are really in line with each other. I never thought that would happen, but it has. They have different reasons for wanting to prevent the dissemination of these weapons, but the goal is the same,” said Scrape TV International Conflict analyst Mario Martinez. “It’s got to be tough for Gaddafi, losing so much like this. Not only has he lost control of his nation, the respect that he earned through that, and his stability going into retirement but now he has lost his personal collection. One can’t feel too sorry for Gaddafi, Obviously, but this was obviously something important to him and now it’s gone and that is just sad.”

Gaddafi has also apparently lost his collection of human skulls. They were seized by rebel forces during the assault on Tripoli.
