GERMANY PUSHING FOR COLLECTIVE GOVERNMENT AGAIN, FRANCE WILLING

August 17 2011

Paris, France – Germany and France have proposed a so-called collective government in the face of growing economic strife throughout the European Union. The proposal, developed in collaboration with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy, would unify the governments of the Union under a central leadership.angela merkel germany

Such an effort would not be the first in Europe’s history, of course, but given the current state of economics throughout the zone it may be a much simpler proposal than previous attempts. It’s not yet clear what type of options the German and French governments will be giving the other nations in the Union.

“This is a dramatic solution but one that may be necessary. The financial hardship borne by one nation is impacting the rest of the countries in the union and a unified government would help to eliminate many of those issue and concerns that bring about financial difficulties,” said a German insider. “This would allow us to unify fiscal and social policies to help ensure that the types of difficulties we have been enduring have limited chance of occurring again. There would be one vision, one system for everyone.”

Because they have borne the brunt of the financial repayments, Germany has been most vocal about unifying fiscal policies. It’s believed likely that the French just went along with it.angela merkel pleased

“There are deep concerns that if such a thing does not happen that we may not be able to dig ourselves out of future crises. We have a number of nations which have not acted in the most responsible of ways and that has led us all to dramatic solutions,” continued the insider. “To give the people of Europe the financial breathing room they require there will likely be no other solution. Countries will have to submit to this.”

Ireland, Portugal, Greece, and Spain have all had major financial difficulties. Others, such as Italy, are also incurring massive debts.

“This is a strong idea, a solid proposal and we do back this idea. By have one unified voice governing everyone we will be able to create a new mandate for the people of Europe and that, in turn, will make us stronger for the long term,” said a French insider. “The proposal is strong and we support the effort. We will support the German government in whatever it is they feel is the right thing to do with the continent.”

Germany has been the main financial backer of nations which have suffered default, much to the growing anger of the German people.nicolas sarkozy happy

“There may be no other solution in the long term. The idea of participation is a great one, but having each entity operate independently is always going to be a challenge. By having a single voice, a unified philosophy they will be able to secure the future,” said Scrape TV European analyst Gillian Weismann. “Eventually that will also allow the Union to expand beyond its current boundaries and make them into an even greater economic powerhouse than they already are which will most certainly benefit the people of Europe, and perhaps the whole world.”

The U.K., which is a tertiary member of the Union, has said it’s okay with the idea.
