IRAN LAUNCHES ATTACK AGAINST THE INDIAN OCEAN

July 9 2011

Tehran, Iran – Most people assume that if the world is going to come to an end it will begin in Iran. With a radical theocracy in charge, a confrontational relationship with virtually every country in the world, and nuclear missiles seemingly imminent it’s Ayatollah Khamenei
perfectly sensible to think such a thing, providing you think the world is going to come to an end. After all, monsters are always the ones who destroy the world.

Of course, Iran is not the first monster to appear on the global scene. Rome had such a reputation, as did the Ottoman Empire. The Mongols destroyed entire cities leaving only a few alive to tell the tale, allowing them to conquer more territory than any other in history. In the modern age, we have had the Nazis, the Communists, the Iraqis, Al Qaeda, Cuba, North Korea and a host of other nations which have at one point or another been considered beasts bent on global destruction. In the 6000 years or so of nationhood no country has yet rained down global destruction and there is a very good possibility that such a thing will never happen. That may not stop people from trying however and if there is one nation eager to bring the world to its knees, it’s most likely to be Iran, at least for now. There is no better evidence of that than an attack brought by the regime against its old nemesis, the Indian Ocean, earlier this year.iran missiles

“In the month of Bahman two missiles with a range of 1,900 km were fired from Semnan province into the mouth of the Indian Ocean. These were necessary actions and show our opponents that aggression and harsh words will not go unanswered,” said Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of the Iranian aerospace division. “The people of Iran must be defended against any type of aggression, whether it is from Israel, the United States, or any body of water which seeks to damage our people and our cause. We do not wish this conflict but we will respond with great force whenever it is required.”

The missile attack was launched sometime in late January or early February. It’s not clear what prompted the assault against the water body.

“This is a potentially dangerous escalation to be sure. Aside from the fact that it shows Iran has the ability to hit something that far away, it also shows that they are more than willing to strike whenever their interests are at stake, with apparently little or no provocation,” said Scrape TV International analyst Gustav Hander. “Obviously we know they have a bit of a hair trigger, or at least they give off that impression, but it was always assumed that much of that was sabre rattling. Now it appears that they are more than willing to actually take action against anyone who provokes them.”indian ocean

The missiles were believed to carry traditional warheads. Thus far, Iran has not developed nuclear capabilities.

“Obviously attacking the Indian Ocean isn’t like attacking a sovereign nation. An ocean can’t fight back, it can’t petition to the UN. Really it’s kind of unfair, this kind of attack, but it is a formidable display of power and also shows that they are more than willing to attack anyone, including defenceless targets,” continued Hander. “It’s also a little baffling because there is no real history of animosity between the Indian Ocean and Iran, but perhaps it wasn’t meant as revenge, only as a display of power, as unfortunate as that is for the ocean.”

There are no representatives for the Indian Ocean we could contact for comment.
