LIBYAN PARTY PLANNERS HAVING TROUBLE GETTING INVITATION TO GADDAFI

Tripoli, Libya – It would appear, finally, that rebels have claimed the capital of Libya. Months after a full-fledged Civil War began in that country, the government has been effectively overthrown. The war is most certainly not over, not until all pockets of resistance are rooted out and the interim government takes over, but that hasn’t stopped party planners from getting started.
Throughout the country, celebrations have begun as word of the Fall of Tripoli continues to spread but all those celebrations are a little subdued in the face of one important person not being present. After all, no party could have been possible without Muammar Gaddafi and he is the one person party-planners have been unable to reach, with many fearing that his invitation may have been lost in the mail, or worse, that he moved without leaving a forwarding address.
“This is a wonderful period for Libya and for all the people of the country and we want to begin these celebrations as soon as possible, unfortunately we are limited. There is a still a great deal of fighting in the capital and beyond and these are not good things
for partying, but we feel it is essential that the guest of honour be here and that is proving to be a challenge,” said a rebel part-planner who preferred to remain anonymous. “Without the Colonel here the party just won’t be the same thing. We are asking everyone who knows him if they can get in contact, but no one seems to know where he is at the moment.”
Some have speculated that Gaddafi has actually left the country, but even his sons who have been waiting in surprise in rebel facilities aren’t sure where he has gone.
“We will still have this party, to be sure, but it simply won’t be the same thing without him here. The entire party has been planned around him and there is little doubt that his absence will be noticed if he is not here. We will go on, but it won’t be the same thing,” continued the planner. “We urge anyone who knows where Colonel Gaddafi to please have him R.S.V.P. as soon as possible. At the very least to let us know that he won’t be able to make it, just so we know what type of party to have.”
Sons Saif,Saadi, and Mohammad have all been at party headquarters since early Monday morning.
“This is a great time for the people of Libya, a kind of redemption for the entire nation and it would be a shame to have the party fall flat. I mean I’m sure people will enjoy themselves but it just isn’t the same thing without the main man there. I’m sure they will all be thinking exactly that, that something is missing even as they have a great time,” said Scrape TV International analyst Gustav Hander. “I mean much of the leadership will be there, but without Gaddafi things just won’t be the same. People will say they are having a good time, but everyone will notice his absence whether they admit it or not.”
Party favours and fresh ammunition have already begun spreading throughout the capital.
